It's that time - for the Bobby Jacobs update.
The former Slam Dunk to the Beach founder now faces charges of stalking state
athletic officials.
Jacobs, 52, was charged with three counts of felony stalking two men and one
woman by sending letters to their superiors, alleging sexual misconduct,
according to the Delaware News Journal.
Police said that Jacobs was trying to derail the lives and careers of the three
victims because they assisted authorities in his prosecution for fraudulently
signing checks for more than $65,000 back in 2004.
Jacobs was indicted back in 2006, but spent a year running from police before
he was caught down in Miami. He was then sentenced to two years in prison in
2008, with one year suspended, and ordered to pay $400,000 in restitution.
The newspaper said that authorities said Jacobs was believed to be released
from prison late last year.
HOLY CROSS SEARCH GOES ON
Here's the latest with the Holy Cross opening:
Vermont coach Mike Lonergan, according to sources, is not the front-runner for
the job.
According to industry sources, Holy Cross athletic director Dick Regan will
meet with former Boston University head coach Dennis Wolff and current
UMass-Lowell head coach and former Holy Cross assistant Greg Herenda today.
Notre Dame assistant Sean Kearney interviewed late last week and there has been
contact between Holy Cross and Pittsburgh associate head coach Tom Herrion.
Kearney's father played at Holy Cross while Herrion grew up in nearby and his
father coached at Holy Cross.
According to sources, former Holy Cross assistants Sean
Doherty - who was also the head coach at Salem State and is from Worcester - and
Eric Eaton are also expected to meet with Regan.
Look for a decision to be made early next week.
