Wildcats junior guard Scottie Reynolds will withdraw from the NBA Draft and return for his senior season.
``The best decision foe me is to return to Villanova for my senior year,"
Reynolds said in a statement released by the school on Tuesday morning. ``I'd
like to thank everyone who put their time into helping me get better during
these NBA workouts."
Reynolds averaged 15.2 points per game for a Wildcats team that went to the
Final Four and won 30 victories last season.
According to several NBA executives, Reynolds would have likely been taken in
the second round or gone undrafted in the June 25 NBA Draft.
Now Villanova - which lost seniors Dante Cunningham, Dwayne Anderson and Shane Clark from last season's team - will still have a veteran go-to guy in Reynolds to go along with improving guards Corey Fisher and Corey Stokes, Reggie Redding and a talented freshman class that includes guards Dominic Cheek and Maalik Wayans, forward Isaiah Armwood and big man Mouphtauo Yarou. The Wildcats will also add former Duke transfer Taylor King, who becomes eligible this season after sitting out last year.
