Here is my All-Freshman Team entering the stretch drive.
F - Gordon Hayward, 6-8, Butler - People may think I'm crazy, but right now he
might be the best freshman in the country. He's averaging 13.9 points, 6.4
rebounds and is shooting 46 percent from long range and 83 percent from the
line. He can shoot, pass, rebound and handle the ball.
F - Al-Farouq Aminu, 6-8, Wake Forest - He's a big-time athlete who needs to
become more consistent, but the Demon Deacons standout is averaging 13.2
points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.
C - Greg Monroe, 6-10, Georgetown - The Hoyas smooth big man isn't putting up
eye-popping numbers, but no one does under JT3. He's averaging 13 points, 6.8
rebounds and 1.5 blocks while shooting 57 percent from the field.
G - Tyreke Evans, 6-5, Memphis - He's been the key for Memphis' resurgence
lately. He has thrived since being moved to the point and is averaging 17.1
points, 2.7 assists and has become the Tigers go-to guy.
G - Willie Warren, 6-3, Oklahoma - He's a big-time scorer and proved it over
the weekend when he exploded with Blake Griffin out of the lineup. He's
averaging 15.4 points and 3 assists while shooting 49 percent from the field
and 38 percent from long distance.
