The Miami Heat boss, after all the rumors about how much he didn't value
Michael Beasley, took the versatile forward at No. 2.
For a while there, it appeared as though O.J. Mayo might be the guy at No. 2,
but maybe Riley was throwing out a smoke-screen all along.
Maybe he wanted Da Bulls to hear all about the so-called character issues with
Beasley and go with hometown product Derrick Rose.
Kind of ironic how one year after Maryland product Kevin Durant goes second, his good friend,
Beasley, is also taken No. 2.
Miami can now pair Dwyane Wade with Beasley and have a
quality 1-2 combination - along with athletic forward Shawn Marion.
I am not a fan of Mayo, but he was the right pick for Minnesota. Just imagine how bad the T'Wolves would have been
defensively with a combo of Kevin Love and Al Jefferson at the power forward
and center spots.
Mayo gives Minnesota a guard to pair with Randy Foye in the backcourt and
they can bring Rashad McCants off the bench for scoring.
Now the draft starts to get exciting. What will young Seattle GM Sam Presti do
with No. 4?
