Officially, it'll read that D.J. Augustin is declaring for the NBA Draft - but he isn't hiring an agent.

Unofficially, the Texas sophomore point guard isn't turning back.

Augustin hasn't hired an agent and there's a chance that Augustin and his family could handle the negotiations themselves - or he may sign with an agent down the road.

CHALMERS WILL DECLARE

FOXSports.com also broke the news that the guy who hit the biggest shot this college basketball season, Kansas' Mario Chalmers, will test the waters.

Chalmers won't sign with an agent, either, but the junior combo guard will go through the process and evaluate his situation before making a decision whether to return to Lawrence or not.

Chalmers' decision is critical for the Jayhawks in terms of their success next season. Brandon Rush is gone, Darrell Arthur's departure is probably a flip of the coin - and Bill Self also loses seniors Darnell Jackson, Russell Robinson and Sasha Kaun.

That could be a Florida-esque exodus.

ARIZONA REASSIGNS KEVIN O'NEILL

Arizona assistant coach Kevin O'Neill has been reassigned to duties within the athletic department for the remainder of the fiscal year.

O'Neill, 51, took over for Lute Olson on an interim basis while Olson stepped away from the team for personal reasons this past season. The Wildcats were 19-15 and lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

O'Neill will serve as an assistant to the athletic director until June 30.

MILLER SIGNS LENGTHY EXTENSION AT XAVIER

Xavier head coach Sean Miller has signed an extension through the 2017-18 season. Miller, 39, initially had a six-year deal when he was hired in 2004. This is his third extension and the longest ever given to a head coach at Xavier.

RANDOM NOTES: Hartford coach Dan Leibovitz signed a two-year extension through the 2013-04 season. ... Winchendon School's Larry Anderson has signed with Long Beach State in a quality pickup by Dan Monson and his staff.
