Look for No. 3 Kansas to finally have all of its pieces next weekend.
Jayhawks coach Bill Self said that sophomore guard Sherron Collins is likely out for Saturday's game against DePaul, but that Collins will likely return on Dec. 15 against Ohio.
"He tried to practice today (Thursday) and was 60 to 70 percent," Self said. "His foot felt good, but his body still needs some time."
Self said that Collins, who has a tendency to put on weight, has been on a special diet since suffering a stress fracture to his left foot in mid-November.
"He's been disciplined and hasn't gained a pound," Self said.
Collins was leading the team in scoring at 16 points per contest through the team's first two games of the season.
KNIGHT RUN
Bob Knight's got to be feeling better, right?
Knight and his Red Raiders went on a 42-1 run (yes, that's not a misprint) against Louisiana Tech on Wednesday night that began midway through the first half and lasted until the middle of the second half.
Louisiana Tech didn't score a field goal for the final 10:31 of the first half and the first 9:03 after the break. That's 19 minutes, 34 seconds without putting the ball in the basket - other than one free throw.
This is the same Texas Tech team that was coming off a loss at Centenary.
RANDOM NOTES: Sources indicate that Clemson forward Julius Powell is no longer with the team and will be granted a release to transfer out of the Tigers program at the break. The 6-foot-7 junior played just one game this season. ... LSU's collapse against Villanova last night certainly didn't help John Brady's job security. The Tigers have suffered key injuries to Glen Davis and Tasmin Mitchell the last two years, but Brady & Co. blew a 21-point lead late in the second half and lost to 'Nova. ... How about Central Arkansas, in just its second season of D-1 play, winning eight consecutive games after a season-opening loss to Kentucky?
