FOX neglected to air the opening ceremonies of Game 6 of the American League Championship last night, including The National Anthem.
Also neglected to air was a moment of silence before the game where nearly 50,173 fans stood in silence honoring the Line-Of-Duty Death of Bronx-born Yonkers Firefighter Patrick Joyce, who was fatally injured while investigating a report of residents trapped in a three-alarm blaze. Two of his brothers, Marty and Peter, both Firefighters, stood behind second base flanking the Yonkers Fire Department color guard while 40 members of the department stood in dress uniforms behind home plate as Chuck Mangione played the national anthem.
It gets even better:
Supposedly during the Seventh-Inning Stretch, the Yonkers Fire Department Pipes and Drums Band were supposed to play in honor of FF Pat Joyce and retired FD member Frank Amodio sing the national anthem. What did the viewing public get to see? During the Opening Ceremonies, we were treated to a post-football game "chat-fest" and during the seventh-inning stretch, a block of played-out commercials was shown!!!
What a disgrace!
