Boxing???? LMAO. The sleaziest sport going. Great if you like watching home-cooked decisions... tomato cans being fed to Bob Aram's up-and-comers... bought off judges stealing fights from winners. Boxing you say??? Don't make me laugh.

You are correct- MMA isn't boxing.. but it's also not corrupt and boring- which boxing has been (except at the amateur level) since the day Don King stepped on the scene.

Atleast there is excitement ,strategy, and no thug posse hanging out with the UFC fighters camps...

Just my opinion...

One thing I do like about Boxing, is you have to punch your opponent. I like stand-up fights and in UFC matches, I rather see them stand there and fight eachother. I hate when a person with a wrestling background gets in the ring and just sits on the other person.
Anyone every see the Toughman Competitions? Those were fun to watch! These guys would fight nonstop. Too bad they have banned it in most states.

Calling it a barfight is an uneducated thing to say. I don't think too many bar fighters know Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

There is a lot more order and technique to MMA than you are giving it credit for. Boxers are absolutely better and more technical with boxing, but they don't have to train all that MMA guys do, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, and boxing.

There is much more respect and honor in MMA than in barfights as well. No sucker punches, only one-on-one fights, wins by submission holds, and no lingering bad feelings after the fight (most of the time). The top guys in MMA don't fight with anger, it's just a form of competition to them.

I almost forgot to mention some of their legitimate credentials, too. There are dozens of Olympic medalists in MMA that come from wrestling and judo. Countless NCAA D-I wrestlers. Black belts in the respect teaching martial arts. And then there is CroCop, Mirko Filipovic, the Croatian fighter who was a member of the anti-terrorist special police, a professional soccer player, and a member of the Croatian National Parliament.

These men are the farthest thing from being barroom fighters.

I'm not quite sure how MMA has found it's way on to boxing pages. I don't mind MMA but don't insult boxing fans by assuming that a barfight within a chain link fence is as skillful or entertaining as boxing. Call me a purist.
