Calling it a barfight is an uneducated thing to say. I don't think too many bar fighters know Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
There is a lot more order and technique to MMA than you are giving it credit for. Boxers are absolutely better and more technical with boxing, but they don't have to train all that MMA guys do, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, and boxing.
There is much more respect and honor in MMA than in barfights as well. No sucker punches, only one-on-one fights, wins by submission holds, and no lingering bad feelings after the fight (most of the time). The top guys in MMA don't fight with anger, it's just a form of competition to them.
I almost forgot to mention some of their legitimate credentials, too. There are dozens of Olympic medalists in MMA that come from wrestling and judo. Countless NCAA D-I wrestlers. Black belts in the respect teaching martial arts. And then there is CroCop, Mirko Filipovic, the Croatian fighter who was a member of the anti-terrorist special police, a professional soccer player, and a member of the Croatian National Parliament.
These men are the farthest thing from being barroom fighters.
