Most keeper leagues have problems with competitive balance because the league either keeps too many players or the league has different experience levels. So to ensure that there is plenty of talent each year we will use the following system on keepers:

*No players drafted in the first round can be kept.
(This keeps plenty of the top talent in the draft each year.)

*Keeping a player drafted in the 2nd round will make you forfeit your 1st round pick the following year

*Keeping a player drafted in the 3rd round will make you forfeit your 2nd round pick the following year

*Keeping a player drafted in the 4th round will make you forfeit your 3rd round pick the following year

*Keeping a player drafted in the 5th round will make you forfeit your 4th round pick the following year

**Keeping a player drafted in the 6th round will make you forfeit your 5th round pick the following year

Basically whatever round a guy gets drafted you lose 1 round earlier the following year if you keep him.

This not only keeps talent in the draft pool each year but if you are great at drafting you get rewarded too if you drafted a gem in a really late round that you decide to keep.

*YOU CAN KEEP UP TO 5 PLAYERS......Yes you have a choice if you want to keep none (not sure why you would but the option is there)

I am sure there will be several trade scenarios asked about so I will post some that I can think of now:

If at the end of the year you end up with more then one 1 guy who was drafted in the same round you can only keep 1 player for each round. So for example lets say through trades, waivers, or just a free agent pick up from a guy who was dropped that you end up with 4 guys who were drafted in the 3rd round you can only make 1 of those guys that were drafted in that round as your keeper.

You can trade picks but keep in mind you must have the appropriate draft pick to forfeit in order to keep each player. For example if you trade away your 2nd round pick and end up having no 2nd round pick (using the system listed above as reference) you can not make a keeper out of a guy you drafted in the 3rd round because you no longer have the pick (collateral) to forfeit. So just use the same +1 system to determine not only the cost to keep a guy but who you can keep.

Dont let this overwhelm you as it is very easy and if you have any questions feel free to ask as many and as often as you like.

The Draft will be a slow forum draft on our forum with a 12 hour MAX time limit per owner per pick.
