Well now outside of a 5 game blowout streak in these last few games Ron is as gone as Charlie Weis at Notre Dame. So here we go again who's next in line for the O.C.??

Well heron i agree we have had consistancy in the coaching staff but I am wanting to get a line and keep them together and keep a QB for more than one or two seasons. We should have never given up Jones or traded Booker when we did.He would be washed up now but he could have helped out alot in our past. The situation we are in right now, we have to admit a makeshift line isn't going to get it, and we have to get a number 1 reciever. But we also need defensive help.So if we don't go out and spend in this years free agency and get a guard, tackle and reciever.then get another legit linebacker and a decent corner we won't have a chance to compete in this division. We both know that no one in the NFC north is getting any worse and if our coaches want to be working here they have to give them some talent to work with,WE don't have to have all stars but just legit players who can DO their Jobs.I was really hoping Lance Louis would get some time this season and he may right now with all the injuries.Olsen is a great recieving TE but not a blocker like you said.Look at the vikes right now ,their Offense all started with signing Steve Hutchenson and they have really built around that. Seattle should never have let him go. But it will take years to build a decent Offense. I don't think Turner is bad but i would like to see what someone else might be able to do with what we have.

Consistency is something the team hasn't lacked for.  Same GM and head coach for past 5 years and same ownership group.  Same OC and same defensive scheme also.  This is purely a talent issue.  Look, Ron Turner isn't an offensive mastermind, but he's not the worst offensive coordinator also.  He has a solid set of plays he runs that would work based on a power O-line.  The reason his scheme's  worked a few years ago is because he had Ruben Brown at LG who was a pro-bowl level power OG and Thomas Jones who ran with power.  His trapping and pulling scheme isn't working now because he has  Beekman (who is vastly over-valued) at LG and an aging C who can't move the nose out of the way anymore.  A new C and new LG and the running game would be much better.  If Kellen Davis gets 20% better as a blocker, he is a better starting TE than Greg Olson ever will be.  Olson is not a first round caliber TE.  If I had to do the line for next year right now with the talent currently on the team, I would go Williams at LT, Lance Louis at LG (he's a heck of a pulling guard and is stronger at the point than Beekman), Beekman at C (never will be a top 10 center but serviceable, Garza or Shaffer at RG and Omiyale at RT.  That would be a better power blocking group, you have a left guard who is mobile enough to pull and block on the move  and you have two guys on the right side that could match up with Kevin Williams and Ray Edwards or Kampmann and Raji.

Your right heron about all these number 3 recievers and child like play on the O-line. I htink we have gotten great play out such a young inexperienced group But if we maybe added just 1 big play reciever and a really good tackle and one decent guard I think we could make this team work. everyone knows the thing about Offensive lineman is that they all have different skills we need. Some guy's play great in the run game but can't get it done in pass. It is really hard to get O-lineman that can do both. So we need to get at least 2 guys out there that can do both and some people that can do a big time run block when we need it.

This Offense needs alot of practice and some guy's to step up and become the leader. We have some good talent and most of our team is pretty young and dumb. But there has to be some guy's on this squad who can step up and be leaders and help this club stay focused on becoming a better more consistant ball club. Thats been our problem every since i have been a Bears fan the last 43 years . We have had a lot of signs of good play all through the years but we have never shown consistancy. Some of this comes from being such a big city. If you don't win right away you are out the door. Coaches and players both. We need some kind of consistancy.

The O-line and the  play calling for Cutler an Forte is NOT there. Turner was let go before for the same SH#t. Calling the same mess over an over. IF THERE IS NO PROTECTION for Cutler or no one to open holes for Forte THERE WELL BE NO RUNNING GAME AN CUTLER WILL MAKE MISTAKES. WITH OUT THE O-LINE. I knew when they got Tuner back this was going to happen. He could not call the right plays then an he will not now.....THOSE WHO DO NOT LEARN FROM THE PAST ARE DESTINED TO REPEAT THE SAME MISTAKES.......As for the penalties an they are too many. WE need someone to light some FIRE under these guys .Like J .GRUDEN, OR DITKA , OR SOMEONE TO PUT THE HAMMER DOWN WHEN MISTAKES HAPPEN.  O-LINE  OR D-LINE......     Angry

Our Offensive line is a joke,Cris Williams was pancaked by the Defensive end like 3 or 4 times this week. This off season we have to build an actual O line. I don't care if its with free agency or the draft or what ever we can figure out. I love olin Kreutz but I don't think he can possibly lead this Offense much longer. He is still a great blocker and tougher than nails but we have to at least start looking. I know a couple of centers that will be availlable this year or we could find one in the draft. But obviously these guy's aren't going to make it. Garza is still pretty good but he has seen his best seasons pass already.
