I think that Dallas, the Skins and Raiders fall under a speacial class. These three teams have owners that mess to much with the team and coaches. Its hard to say if your the coach to say I want someone breathing down my neck. I mean who likes a coach that micro manages. I think three years is just to short of a time for a new caoch. It takes time to clean house of bad drafts and time for the new blood to kick in. The Bucs for example wanted to get rid of the age and it will take time.
heh cable - wonder if he even applied or had an interview... seems like one of them "hey lets make the next guy that walks thru the door the coach" ideas that happened right before the pizza's arrived.
I agree with Kramer, 3 years in most cases...especially if they're having to rebuild a wrecked franchise. I'd give Spagnolo in St. Louis three years to try to clean up that mess as long as they're showing progress. Same goes for Schwartz in Detroit.
In cases like Wade with the Cowboys...only two. He took a good team on the rise and has caused it to get worse every year since. It was obvious that he wasn't getting the job done at the end of last season. He should've been gone. I'd have Raheem Morris in Tampa on a short leash too. That team wasn't too far off before he gutted it and screwed it up big time.
Zorn should've never been hired. He only got the job because the people they really wanted went elsewhere and the next best option that they were considering blew his interview. Same goes for Tom Cable in Oakland.
I'd say 3 years. With Zorn, there is no way out of that hole. They spent almost $150M on TWO players, and they gave the Lions their first win! How sad is that. Wade has already worn out his welcome. How I miss the days when Jimmy was the coach!
Case in point the Redskins spent millions on there D and are getting zero return. Zorn is already getting fired is the rumor. But does he deserve to be? Dan Synder as GM has put the Redskins in a hole that no coach can over come. KC has Haley and are going 0-5. How long should he get to rebuild before you call him a bust. The only coach that I see right now that should get fired is Wade. I mean in three years he has lost in playoffs to a visiting team. He followed that up with a TD less lose that cost him a playoff berth. Now he has the team limping to 8-8 or long shot wild card lose. But how long should a coach get to build a winner/loser.
