Mars - Welcome back, haven't seen ya in a while. I have no doubt Jacobs (largest running back in captivity) is a premier back in the league, and one of the best of the premier. Don't attempt to sell me as naive. Yeah Columbo is a monster and had Jacobs not been nudged and tugged towards the locker room, he wouldn't have done more (probably) than rant and spew the typical lip service that he's famous for. It's just the comment that LU made insinuating Columbo was somehow fortunate that Gilbride was there to keep Jacobs off of Columbo. With respect to LU, that's a bit over the top. That's all.

As for the game... Since you weren't around... Tony OhNo and Felix's fumble gifted 21 points to the Giants. Still, it was up to the Giants to take those picks and turnovers and actually produce points. Which they did. Every week you see teams that get 3 or 4 turnovers and can't put points on the board.

The Giants took as much as Dallas gave. And Eli was stellar in the 4th quarter after Dallas had shut down the Giants running game. Manningham is everything I feared he would become when he was drafted out of Michigan. Giants are solid in every aspect of their game. I can state that rather matter-of-factly. You should know well enough that I stay rather rational and I don't harbor bitterness.

Now... Where are those Jacobs highlights you have for us?

MC - I'm going to chalk up this misplaced ranting by you to bitterness over the loss to the Giants a couple weeks ago. What other explanation can there be for an action by an otherwise rational mind (however rational someone who likes the Cowchunks can beWink)? There are plenty of threads here on the Giants Forum where you could have placed your opinion and it would have been perfectly appropriate. As this was meant for Jacobs Highlights, I'll have to repay the favor in kind on a similar thread in the Cowboys Forum in the near future. Salvos shall come.

In response to what you have to say, no one Jacobs size would be expected to want to take on someone as huge as Columbo. That guy is enormous, and when I saw how big he was in the clip I was thinking, "It'd be nice to have that monster on the Giants." However, at no point did it look like Jacobs was afraid and it was obvious that Columbo was satisfied to have Jacobs yanked away by multiple people.

Jacobs talks no more trash than the trash talkers on the Cowboys and he's one of the best back in the league, whether you're willing to admitt that much or not. You're bitter, and it's obvious. Let's take it to other threads then where we can sling the bitterness without interrupting the art of Jacobs Highlights. Please.

The week before, Crayton says that he and the rest of the Cowboys don't respect the giants for the trash they talk, so Brandon Jacobs talks more trash? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Crayton's comments aren't hypocritical, but Jacobs' actions are puzzling.

Jacobs, as always, has to spew at the mouth about a week before the game. Nothing new. He said to a reporter "I hate the Cowboys, hate them with a bloody passion." What else is new? So what's the difference between "I hate you", and "I don't respect you"? Nothing.

In this clip, everyone but Jacobs is being a good sport until he starts running his mouth-- Even Crayton, you can see him shaking hands with Hagan, I believe.

All Jacobs does is run his mouth pre-game and then went out and got shut down. Crayton and Jacobs go thru this every time they play eachother. Both were shut down during the game and were insignificant contributors. They both had one of their worst games. So Jacobs was ushered away from making an azz of himself and the Giants. It's comical that you want it to play out that Jacobs was highly overpowered, against all of his strength and will, from attacking 6'8 318 pound Columbo??

Where is Columbo, Gilbride or Eli wrong? The second time the clip is played in the show, you see Jacobs still backing away, wisely, but still fluttering lip service, nothing new, until Eli jerks him out of the camera about 15 yards back. You claim to see him being overpowered and restrained??? By Eli?? lol

He was never close to being physically restrained, which is how you would like to see it. It was pretty much a Jacobs tantrum, and cooler heads than his prevailed.

Lu it was comical and a non-issue with me, until you stated "Columbo he's lucky Gilbride was there." I almost spewed coffee all over my desk! Columbo could squish Jacob like a lil bug, which he had no intention of. He, and others, simply kept cooler heads and didn't let Jacob's tantrum become an issue. Making it pretty much a non issue.

But it makes the next game a bit more exciting already.

Pardon the interruption, but looks like somebody needs to watch that clip again.

At no point was Jacobs ever “steadily backing up fast.” He was first pushed away by Gilbride, and then pulled backward by Hagan, and then by both Cowboys #70 and #17. The only **** visible is Columbo. First he shoves Jacobs in the back and then just stands there while Jacobs is pulled away. Nobody stopped Columbo from taking a swing at Jacobs. And sorry but it certainly didn’t appear that Jacobs was afraid of Columbo at all. Tantrum? Hardly.

Crayton is a bigger (smaller?) whiner than Jacobs has ever been. All Crayton does is run his mouth pre-game and then go out and drop passes. Yawn.

Bottom line: Giants 33 Cowboys 31. Better luck next time.

Jacobs wanted absolutely no part of Columbo whatsoever. He was crawdading while talking chit... Steady backing up fast. Both teams talked a lot of heavy locker room smack leading up to the game, and Jacobs is one of the most notorious chit talkers in the league. He hurls insults at teams, and crys like a baby and takes it personal when they respond. He loves to dish it out, but throws a tantrum when it comes to taking it.

In EVERY sport you put the animosity aside and shake hands after the game. Gilbride & Eli showed some class and saved Jacob's dignity in the process. Columbo wasn't gonna let it go down any other way either. You shake hands, and you move on. He just let Jacobs know to get that silly kid stuff on outta here.

Almost fell?SurprisedAre u kiddin me?

Columbo was sticking up for his teammate and probably in the back of his mind wanting to get Jacobs attention away from the much smaller Crayton.

It looks like BJ was bout to punch him right in the face ,but Gilbride just happen to stop it & was pushing him away from Columbo.

As for showing no class...So, you think it's OK to shove a guy from behind for trash talking?  Interesting.

I disagree. While it may have been the MATURE thing to do, it certainly would have been less entertaining.I mean when Crayton comes out saying they dont respect us, BJ was throwing it in his face.

LU - I was actually gonna put that video up. You beat me to it by a minute or 2! The look on Jacobs face was priceless!

He almost fell into shock when big bad Columbo nudged him on the shoulder! That was funny. When he turned to see who it was, and that it was 6'8" 318 pound Columbo, he began backing up. Columbo put Jacobs in check. What was funny was that Jacobs was slung like a rag doll by Eli (Eli???) since he was in full retreat mode anyway! Backin' up in retreat mode and talkin' sh*t. LOL

Jacobs was in a hissy fit mode and showed no class. He was pissed at himself for being insignificant in the game? Still it's very classless that when teams meet at midfield for a post-game handshake, Jacobs chose to throw class in the trash and just bow up like an angry idiot, screaming and yelling and trash talk. Real bad azzes don't talk chit backing up, which is what Jacobs did when he saw a monster confront him.
