What is the time frame for steriods to be effective? If somebody worried about getting his arse kicked takes steriods on Monday will that really give him an edge next Sunday??

J.R., The NFL will lose these cases constantly since pharmaceutical companies like drug dealers (Duh, isn't that some kind of repetition in terms) change their binding agents, the inert material that holds StarCaps or, for that matter, various versions of blotter acid together. Result ? The NFL can't possibly keep up with any banned substances list since adding an ion here, and there, usually a hydroxyl ion, and the compound is suddenly "different" and likely off the banned list, because it is different...but it is not. Only the inert molecular structure is, but the function and action of this "new" compound is the same.
As for StarCaps, the drug Kevin Williams took, (yet does he, unlike brother Phat look like he needs to lose weight ?), that drug does have qualities that did bring it to the banned list, chiefly that it is piss poor at bringing on water loss but great, in fact the very best diuretic, for masking 'roids. But, that drug is now morphed into others not on any list, but still functioning to bulk up any and all who use it. Ah chemistry, ah the lack of corporate ethics. I salute the manner in which these companies, in the name of profits, destroy sports, as we know them...Amen

Ok, so for the sake of argument. Star Caps main function is the masking agent and not water weight. Did you check the ingredients of the other diuretics against the NFLs banned substance list? Maybe Star Caps was the only one not on that list.
I would love to hear the result of such an in depth study. Please post on here when you find out.

 Ever notice how when someone makes a point the subject gets changed REAL FAST??? The WILLIAMS story is old news they are playing..Why dont we talk about something more up to date like the horrible trade for Hershel Walker?

The William's case or story, as you put it, is not finished. Only a local judge has ruled, alocal yokel Mpls judge, by the way, not a Fed judge or the Supreme Court which the NFL is hinting at. By the way, few people in other sports cities doubt these slobs are guilty as sin, but like I wrote, the NFL messed up in it's wording and testing procedures.
Doesn't really matter since have you ever noticed how many players (like Jared, the assassin) who got his 2 DWIs year ago stay out of trouble when they leave football. Kevin Willians will then be in trouble with the law, and hopefully serve crowbar hotel time (jail) where he'll get back into drugs since what else can such a moron do after sports ?
Phat Williams will simply die of a heart attack brought on by a life of gluttony. The man is an embarrassment of an athlete...
