Cable is a clown, but that's all you can expect to get when your owner is Al Davis.  Nobody wants to work for this guy.  Doesn't matter what names you mention.  None of the big name coaches will touch Oakland until Al is gone!  This coming from a lifelong Raider fan.

Tom Cable Is An Equal Opportunity Puncher. His ex-wife and ex-girlfriend have both stated openly that Cable treated them like assistant coaches. Meanwhile, JaMarcus Russell goes woefully unstruck.

Not sure that would ever happen.  If you look at the coaches available, be it Gruden, Cowher, Shanahan, Bellick, Holmgren, and I probably missed one or two, they are all control freaks.  I do not see any of the above compatible with Davis.  It seems that most, if not all his recent coaches, were easily controlled individuals.  Even Schell did not stand up to Al.  The only coach I can remember that was strong was Madden.  That was so long ago and Al was so much younger, it is hardly worth mentioning.  This Cable thing keeps taking weird twists so how it plays out is anyone's guess.  I would like to see your team's situation resolve itself so the AFC West becomes relevant up and down the line.  Super HappySuper HappySuper Happy

I see the Cableman said he did hit his ex while married but with an open hand.  Wow.  Hear Shanahan and Gruden are still available.  Al is known for giving second chances.  hehehe

Hope the Raiders were watching the Oregon game last night; Blount looks like a player that would fight right in with your coach's philosophy.  He might be a good  pick at #1.  hehehe
