I am leaving for California on August 25th. I will be gone at least 2 weeks. Check your calendars. How does August 23rd, this coming Sunday night fit in for draft? 8:00 P.M. Eastern - 7:00 P.M. Central Time. Also, we need one more FOX regular contributor to join. We have 9 owners, need 1 more. No newbies or strangers.

ET - You just have to wing it. All teams from last year are wiped clean off of boards. Everyone has their own style. Most importantly as a rule, people draft 2 RBs, then 2 WRs, QB, then wing it. You'll want a minimum of 4 RBs, 4 WRs, 2 QBs 2 D/ST, 2 TEs. Our league has 15 roster spots. 15 round draft. Also, new this year, we have 1 Injured Reserve spot. So I'm assuming after the draft we can lower a player to IR and pick up an undrafted Free Agent to the roster. Then you are carrying 16 on your roster. Sometimes you wind up with an abundance of either WRs or RBs after the draft. Puts you in a good position to make a trade for a better player that you actually need. So if the best player on the board is actually better than the players available at the position you need, it might be best to take that player, and use him in a trade for a better QB, D/ST or whatever.

On draft day, there is a draft board showing the top rated players in the draft, in order. Those players disappear from the list as drafted, and the next most valuable ones move up. It's really easier than you think. Look at the Player Ranking at:

http://msn.foxsports.com/fantasy/resour … draftguide

That's what you will see. You'll see Drew Brees is rated above Randy Moss and Reggie Wayne. That is established by the way the FOX drafts have gone so far. The list updates as players are taken off the board. Also, the software keeps track for you of how many players you have drafted at each position.

Also wondering if Midnite could post a sample draft from a prior year so us noobs could get a feel of how many players to pick for each position. Believe i read that we'd pick an entire team for defense/special teams so am guessing we'll need two picks for D/ST to cover the bye week?

so ladies - think the bills an titans pre-season game comin up sunday will be as exciting as it sounds? Wanna bet on cheerleaders or the waterboys goin in before the 2nd half of the 1st quarter?

I'll bet cheerleaders since most teams dont have much depth at the waterboy position.

Yeesh all I kno is iI'm ready for some football dambit!

haha in an ESPN league last year i traded Jason Campbell in about week 8 for Micheal Turner because the other guy had 3 Qbs out for at least 4 weeks, and i still had Joe Flacco at QB.

You'll be relieved when you see the draft board  tools layout on draft day. It's very user friendly for 1st timers. During the season your roster board shows what certain players on your roster are projected for next game. Of course projections aren't accurate, but they are in the right ballpark area. It's cool during games as FOX has up to the minute accurate scoring updates. That's something you have to pay extra for on Yahoo's site.

Check in on Tuesday (after Monday Night Football). All league wins/losses are posted. Maybe tinker with the roster, free agent/waiver wire. Same on Friday. Any time spent above and beyond that depends on how much time you want to invest.

Don't forget trades also. After the draft some owners are overstacked at certain positions. Trades are about negotiating. Week 13 last year hrdcore and me swapped Reggie Wayne for Brian Westbrook. He was overloaded at WR and I had a stable of good RB's. I had to give up on T.O. and boot his ass. I see he landed in Siberia.
