"The Tuck" or the "Immaculate Reception".

the tuck was an obvious bad call. The I.R. , even with todays techno geeks picking apart the film it's hard to tell who that pass hit before Harris got his hands on it.

Steelers vs. Lions, Thanksgiving Day, 1998. Regulation ended with the game tied 16-16. Coin toss for overtime and Steelers' Jerome Bettis calls "tails". The coin shows it was tails but the referee awards the Lions with winning the toss. The Lions chose to receive the overtime kickoff, drove down the field and kicked the game winning field goal.

Benny Barnes an Lynn Swann what a bad call may have cost my favorite team of all time superbowl xiii, and Mel renfro definitely caught that pass and isnt ironic that the the stellers were the team to benefit from both of those calls. I can think of another questionable call for those same stellers. The imaculate reception may not have been a reception at all back in the70's it was illegal for a two offensive players to touch a pass succesion. So if that ball bounced off of fuqua and then to harris it should have been called incomplete. As the story goes the referee that saw what actually happen refused to change the call in fear of all the steller fans that probably would have killed him.

Not sure what game it was or even the details of the play. in but the call went against the Oilers.

I just remember the Oiler player had the ball and was in the open field way ahead of anyone when the ref blew the whistle killing the play. They did not even call anything. The ref called it an "inadverant whistle." In other words, he just accidently blew the whistle, But it cost the Oilers a TD and I believe the game. Horrible call.

That is where the term "inadverant whistle," came from.

I know this isn't about college, and might be a whole other can of worms . . . but where does the Oregon-OU onside kick call stand in college's worst all-time calls? That cost them not only possession, but also momentum, which scored another Oregon touchdown in last year's win vs. OU.

Didnt say worst organization i said s.c.u.m.m.y organization. They arent classy like everyone pegs them to be, liek your Steelers are, like some teams in the NFL are. They treat their players liek crap and last year was the first time everyone got to really see what kind of person Bellicheck is. Genius yeah, but a dirty bastard. You can still be a good coach and handle yourself with dignity.
