MarsBarsTru7 - With all due respect... Good reply. Still, I don't have to watch youtube to have an opinion of Ward. As I pointed out above, Ward was the 45th best receiver in the league last season in receiving yards. He's a good 2nd receiver in a 1st receiver's shoes. That's not an insult. I've said the same thing about Kevin Curtis, and he had a better season than Ward. I have Ward on the bench on 2 of my fantasy teams.

I'm assuming it's friendly banter on your part too, but the topic was worth a comment or 3. I'll even speak in Ward's defense, that the Steelers aren't a light-em-up offense either. They're rather a methodical grind it out team that plays physical as opposed to flashy. Still, discussing Ward is far off topic from the post topic. This disgruntled Colts fan started the same thread on a few pages about Brady being the "most overrated player in the NFL", which is obviously his body's expulsion of sour grapes spewing onto the keyboards, that have long been festering internally.

Just a friendly jab at a dedicated Cowboys fan is all Midnight. Don't get defensive on me now. You're gonna have to dig deep and remember the few posts that I posted on the NFL boards here last year. I like you (despite being a Cowboys fan) and I was being nice. (Relative to how I usually treat Cowboys fans... C'mon... I'm actually calling them the Cowboys and not the Cowgirls or Cowpies... Oops, now look at what you've gone and made me do. BTW, I've never had any angst against your cheerleaders... believe me.).

I really do think you're wrong about Ward though. This guy might not have had the highest numbers last year but anyone that has spent time watching him play, and the people he has worked with knows that this guy makes very few mistakes, performs excellently when he's healthy, and is a great leader on Offense. Obviously Defenses give this guy a lot of respect when he easily draws as much attention from opposing backfields as he does.

Most important about this guy, he's one of the most unselfish WR the game has seen and is known as being one of the best blockers as a WR the game has ever seen. You don't find blocking skill and dedication common in 'star' receivers, let alone for them to excel at it. That's also something that doesn't show up on a stat sheet.

Check this vid out. I know you'll love it. ;)

BTW... watch it with the "cute" thing. Homey don't play that.

I agree midnite ive seen the stats as well and sometimes wondered if I was the only one noticing that alot of people seen to over rate Ward......and I dont necesarrily think that Tavaris Jackson is overrated, maybe hopefull to succeed but not overrated. Jevon Walker, definitely overrated. Cant remember the other one you put...

Biased bitter hatred thing?? Hatred? That's cute.

LMAO

No reason to tilt. I have nothing against him personally, or any NFL player. He's just an example in my statement. The guys listed, you can make an argument for or against. Ward was the 45th best receiver in the league last season with 732 yards. Not too shabby. Some people falsely put him in an elite category.

@MidnightCowboy

Hines Ward = Most Overrated? It has to be that bias bitter Cowboy hatred of any player that ever played for the Steelers that didn't play for the Cowboys thing.

Ward is great.

tarheel - That's a fair statement. Brady & Manning are the 2 best QBs playing in the NFL. Whichever one a person sees as the very best is opinionative. Like it or not, The Pats are the dynasty team of the decade. That's not to take away from what the Colts have done. The Colts probably are as close to being a dynasty as a team can get without being labeled one. Difference? Super Bowl trophies. Skins on the wall. Same can be said of the Chargers and maybe even the Jags.

Still, you started off wrong when you posted this same message on the Pats board claiming Brady is the "most overrated player in the NFL". Jevon Walker, Tavaris Jackson, Jason Campbell, Hines Ward and several others come to mind when you mention "Most Overrated", but certainly not Brady. That's just too over the top.
