There is something to be said for quarterbacks slipping low or out of the 1st round. Cleveland, Miami and Minnesota all passed on Brady Quinn in 2007 with their 1st pick. In the years before that we saw the stock of Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger both fall.
The Falcons are in position to have the best of both worlds in the draft, and here's why: I see them taking Daren McFadden in the 1st round instead of a quarterback. If this draft sees another quarterback slip either Brian Brohm or Andre' Woodson could fall past 20. The Falcons, with two 2nd round picks, could trade up into the bottom of the first round. If not, and neither guy drops, Henne, Booty or Flacco could be theirs with pick No. 48. Win - win situation for a quarterback hungry team to wait and take a QB with their 2nd pick.
I think the "win and win NOW" mentality of expecting sudden greatness from a rookie qb is being recognized as a failed experiment and is becoming pass
How 'Bout Them Cowboys!
