I met Bill Walsh at the Arena Football Championship in 1964. He actually helped me replace a flat tire that night in the parking lot. I remember in 1989 when Bill Walsh won his 1,000th NFL game and 8th Super Bowl as a head coach in Super Bowl X. I was watching that game at a local bar in San Fran. There was total euphoria in that local O'Charleys. Being from Virginia, I was so excited when Bill took the Virginia Tech job in 1992. He molded Frank Beamer into the coach he is today. When Bill Walsh made his final stop in DC to coach the Skins from 2000-2005, my family was thrilled. I am a die hard Skins fan and I remember his tearful goodbye to the Skins and the league before the 2006 season. The man was a legend not only in the game, but also the state of Virginia. You will be sorely missed Bill...The 92 years you lived were incredible and thanks for the memories!!!!
