Darth Vader, I feel so sorry for you. :p Apparently, you are upset because you are not a SAINTS FAN!!! :cool: But, it's by your own choosing. But that's really not the issue here.....the issue is, have you EVER been in a hurricane, had to prepare for a hurricane or had people to die in a hurricane??? OR do you even KNOW what a hurricane IS???? I doubt it. With your many remarks about the "feel good" bs, you certainly, do NOT have a clue as to what NEW ORLEANS, THE SAINTS, THEIR FANS and the MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST has gone through since Katrina. And do you say you do.....YOU DON'T!! :mad: You see, just about everyone comes to the BIG EASY in their lifetime....fan or not a fan of the Saints doesn't matter. BUT,did you have any idea that Hurricane Katrina was a very deadly storm and many elderly and poor had NO WAY out of New Orleans??? Granted, the mayor and the Govenor of Louisiana should have called out the National Guards to help get these folks out of the way.....but many, just like people up North, don't ever think it will hit them. Sometimes, it DOES just that. Now, there were buses that could have taken these people out of the 9th Ward, but, there were no drivers and only ONE man took it upon himself to take one of those buses, already filled with gas, and he went through his neighborhood and whoever wanted a ride out of the path of the hurricane, got on the bus and when it was loaded, he drove the bus to Houston. The rest of those poor people, and I do mean POOR, VERY POOR people were depending on the levies to hold and many were so sick or so elderly, that they felt safe at their homes. However, when things got bad, and the levies broke, they all headed for shelter at the superdome which by the way was NEVER meant to serve as a SHELTER from ANY kind of storm....but that was the best they had at the time. And, people just don't take care of things.....but that aside, the winds of Katrina were so strong, that it ripped part of the roof of the superdome off. And the rain came pouring in. There was a suicide death at the superdome committed by a very depressed person who tried jumping from one tier of the superdome to the next. BUT, no one died inside the dome. After the storm passed and the water receeded, they begin inspecting the damage and the superdome was ruined. And faced with ONLY 2 choices......tear it down and rebuild it OR fix the roof and repair the inside, adding extra box suites and other things. For the whole season of '05, the season went on as planned and the saints had NO WHERE to play......and finally decided to play SOME of their games at Tiger's Stadium on the campus of L.S.U. However, the SAINTS players had NO PLACE TO TRAIN, lift weights, and the home games were taken away from them due to their not being a place available. It was horrible and as much as I dislike "da Bears", I hope they never face what the Saints and their fans did. BUT the SAINTS and THEIR FANS are the BEST IN THE WORLD!!!! NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!! They hung tight, did the best they could with what they had and well, finally when the "NEW" REFURBISHED SUPERDOME WAS OPENED and the SAINTS ENTERED THE FIELD TO PLAY THEIR FIRST HOME GAME IN 06, IT was an AMAZING NIGHT FOR ALL!!! IT WAS A NIGHT THAT EVERYONE WAS A SAINTS FAN AND THEY WERE WELCOMED HOME WITH A WELCOME I WILL NEVER FORGET!!!! OUR BOYS WERE LOYAL DURING THE HARD TIMES AND AS FANS, DIE HARD SAINT FANS, we have something that other people don't. WE ARE SAINT FANS.....FOR LIFE! Not your typical "jump on the bandwagon when the team plays good....and when they don't, don't come to the games......the N.O. Saints Fans are ONE OF A KIND....VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE AND Darth, you will never understand that. You can't.
