GO JAGS!

Why would we need to go 0-16 to get him?  We can use our 4th or 5th round pick on him, he'll still be there.

But to answer the OPs question.  Yes and no.  Yes, more tickets probably would be sold when he first gets on the team, but he would have to start (which he won't).  Then, when it's apparent he's not a good QB in the NFL, people will leave the team.  They'll blame the team and it will be a disaster for the team.

Tebow would deffinately have an impact on ticket sales if we drafted him no matter how he plays. But if he were a Jaguar and he took us to a Superbowl oh my Lord this towns days of be beat up on by the media for poor fan support would be a thing of the past!! But if he doesn't win the jump in ticket sales would be short lived we must win and we need a nationally recognized super star!!!

I was born and raised in Jacksonville but I have been away since '86. I remember when I was growing up that Jax was always turning out in droves to support any team that carried the city's name.  I played little league football on a team named the Sharks.  The Jacksonville Sharks were from the old WFL, I think, and they had a great following from the city.  Then there was the USFLs Jacksonville Bulls.  If memory serves me right, the Bulls had the highest attended home games year after year.  This famed attendance helped the expansion franchise to be awarded to Jacksonville. The city proudly built the finest outside stadium of its time for their team. Jacksonville loves its pro teams and wants to support them for good reasons.

So why have the seats gone unused? I think I know why.

Jacksonville is a mostly conservative city and they want their teams to be as well.  They do not want to come out to the game when they will be seen as supporting the thug persona that comes out of the locker room.  The management has allowed individual's conduct to go unchecked too long.  I like Del Rio but he also lets team players to get away with bad conduct.  I think he would like to get a better handle on it but is afraid of being accused of bigotry.  And, when there is no backing from the front office, no coach can get it in check.

It is for this reason I think Tim Tebow would be great for the team.

Tebow would bring a fresh and CLEAN outlook for the city of Jacksonville and its Jaguars.  The people would be proud to support a team that would emerge from the influence of someone like him.  Tebow's leadership and wholesome spirit would seep throughout the line-up like sugar over berries and leave a sweet taste of expectancy in the city's mouth.  Then there would be waiting lists, years long, of folks trying to get season tickets.  Jacksonville wants a team that will reflect the personality of its people not the thuggery that has been allowed to invade its gridiron of decency.

As a forever Jags fan, I would not mind if the team went 0/16 for the year in order to get the first pick for Tebow.

GO JAGS!

The Jags will fill the stands if they win.

Doesn't really matter who's on the team.
