The defense should be better than it's shown. But, as with all things in the NFL, other teams can figure out your scheme and learn how to attack it. Going back to approximately week 10 of last year, the D has not been as good as advertised.

The Cowboys attacked the Bears properly- they attacked and beat the heck out of the defense. This is a speed D and a physical O-line, physical RB and physical WR's will start to wear the team out. Take a look at the Steelers game last year and the Cowboys game this year. Bears got outmuscled.

The offense is what it is, a slow and aging offense predicated on running the ball and moving the chains. Tough to do when your RB is a straight ahead runner and your O-line is a line coached to setup the cutback. TJones wasn't a great running back, he did well because the line setup well for a RB like him. Ced is a power back who would do well behind a line like Dallas or Pittsburgh. Take a look at Marion Barber on the cowboys- very similar to Ced but he obviously stands out more because his offensive line drive blocks. Individually, no one on the cowboys line is better than the bears, but they're bigger, stronger and fire out more.

Staying healthy a part of the game but you cant tell me that if were healthy our defense is a lot better then how theyv played. WHen healthy were the best but w/e were not and no one is going to give us sympathy. Why cant we trade C Bed to get Thomas Jones back the Jets dont know how to use him. Berrian and the O line is hurt i know no excuses but its hard not to point to that as a reason why were doing so bad. We are not a medoicre team.

The point is...injuries DO make a difference....but you can't sit there and complain about injuries on Duh Bearz....yet say injuries to another team don't matter.

Football is a team sport....and a few years ago....the Pack lost 3/5 of the starting interior line....as well as their top 3 RB's....and it makes a difference to every team. GB is almost as dinged up as Duh Bearz....Harris, Woodson, Wells, B Jackson, Collins....they're all dinged up....its simply a matter of fact that it happens.

4-1 versus 2-3.

The packers blew the bears out in the last game of the season last year but where they the better team?

I'm a bears fan but we still havent proved anything yet. Can't run the ball, can't stop the run with a banged up D-Line and pass coverage looks weak. Other than that, we're in great shape! As long as nobody throws on us, runs on us or drops 7 into coverage, we'll be in great shape.

Seriously- I don't want to hear about any injuries on the packers. Then only injury that would ever matter on that team is if Favre got injured. He's 99.9% of the reason that team has been good. Doesn't matter how good your team is if you don't have a good QB, you won't win consistently.

lol... so when the Packers have half their defense out with injuries and fail to make the playoffs, can we throw all this nonsense back in your face? The players have to step up, but this is a TEAM sport, and as such, it's harder for the other 10 players to adjust to a new face right away. Right now the Bears have more new faces on defense than they have healthy starters, so they're not going to be in sync right away. And yes, the GM should be making sure his backups are serviceable, which Angelo has... but nobody can expect a team where the starters AND their backups are injured not to suffer a bit. Right now the Bears are going to be starting a guy from their practice squad at safety next week because McGowan, Brown, and McBride are all out. You can only do so much when you're forced to start guys who are about as close to walking in off the street as it gets.

Translation:

Injuries, injuries..wahhh...wahhh..injuries...wahhh wahhh wahhh.

Injuries are part of the game...they happen to every team at one time or another. If you don't have solid backups, then its the coach's and GM's fault. Back in 2005...the Pack had a significant number of starters miss games with injuries....and they didn't any sympathy from anyone...and they shouldn't have. Therefore...Duhhh Bearzz don't get any either.

Welcome to Green Bay....and welcome to your next beat down.

The packers should do good this year being the injuries the bears have suffered. It a fact of the game. The packers are healthy and they have played 4 of the 6 worst defenses in the NFL. Its sad though that they could only score 14 points off the eagles. They give up 25pts a game right now. The giants, are you kiding they are giving up 32 pts a game! San Diego! Norv Turner! I think thats enough said! The vikings! well, they just stink. Since 92 when farve came into the league the vikings have won the divison 2x, and the bears and packers have split. And they both lost the division titles cause of injuries. This year will be no different then the rest. The more things change, the more the remain the same. Packers will win the division and will loose in the first round. Except, in 99 and 00. But they only got that far because r.white being himself, brown having two amazing years and howard having 2 great years. And, levens, freeman and glenn being great too. Farve performed poorly throwing more ints then tds those two years.
