Ok, did I have a dream or is Troy already signed? I thought the issue was more about Big Ben's upcoming contract than Troy's. Ben may break the bank but if he is smart he will take less to keep Alan. That is something several high profile players have done in the past. I still like the idea of keeping Faneca but I seriously doubt they will.
Even if I do not know what I am talking about I would like to say that Mr Alan Faneca has handled himself very professionally since the training camp started and has publically said he would love to remain a Steeler. he just understands the business aspect of Pro Football.
I would have to say Troy, Faneca is in the twilight of his career whether you want to belive that or not, also I think there are alot more potential pro bowl tackles than there are safeties.

Faneca is an amazing player but he does not dictate our entire offense. Troy dictates our entire defense. Faneca is also 30 yrs old. I think he has 4 great pro bowl years left but I also think Troy has 10 more pro bowl years. What is more important? There is no way we are going to be able to keep both of them. I understand football is won in lost in the trenches but defenses win championships. Troy is the spark that can help us win another one, as Faneca is not. That does not take anything away from the great player he is, but based on age and talent I will be willing to sacrifce Fancea in order to keep the tasmanian devil in a Steeler uniform. First of all.. I dont see Faneca being a future hall of famer. I love the Steelers and always for the last 25 years or so ago have. I just dont agree that Faneca is a hall of famer. Troy is more important to our team right now than he is no doubt in my mind. They must resign Troy to keep our team together. If the Steelers let him go via free agency then it should only be because the are so worried about the concussions that he is experiencing and they think that he is in real trouble with them. Please explain why you feel this way. I understand your a babypoop browns fan, but I'd like for you to explain why you think these players are not good at their jobs. You must not be a real football fan. I probably know more about your mud butt brown team than you do. But that's pretty typical of fans from the mistake by the lake.
