i feel you pain guys - was born in ironton and have always had a soft spot for the bengals and would love to see em climb out of the cellar at least.

hafta agree that the coach gets too much credit for wins and too much blame for the losses. sure they can make some boneheaded calls but it always boils down to the players - good ones can turn a broken play into a positive if properly motivated and skilled.

so interested in the offseason signings and drafts on the d side of the ball.. the o almost always looks good on paper so is there any hope of em doing domething on the D side this year?

First things first -- Marvin Lewis proved to all TRUE Bengal fans that this a team to be beckoned with. After a few short months with the team we no longer were called the "Bungles" by sports analysts nor were we an easy win coming into Paul Brown Stadium. Even this year at 1-9-1 we make teams prepare for a game rather than a lashing. This is what Marvin Lewis has brought us and you choose to get rid of him instead of embrace him?

I have had the pleasure of watching the Bengals my entire life and to be honest, when Marvin Lewis became the Head Coach, I was never more excited. It seemed as if Mike Brown relinquished command over to Marvin Lewis the first day he hired in -- which made all Bengal Fans excited to say the least. He turned a losing franchise into an 8-8 team or better. Filling the stands and making plays on the field, we are the most exciting Offense in the NFL bar none.

Sure, 1-9-1 is not the best record but look at our team. We are lacking Leadership (Palmer) and we are lacking an Offensive Guru (Bratkowski). The positive notes should be made that our Defense is MUCH improving each and every game. Our Rushing Defense has become a force and the rest are falling in suit. Why not every week? That all depends on our Offense who usually goes 3-and-out. Unless you've playing football in your lifetime, going back out on the field after less than 10 minutes of rest is excruciating especially when you've stopped an offensive powerhouse from driving down the field.

Injuries have plagued our team for the past two years and hopefully we will have a run of good luck soon. Super Bowl champions even fall to the latter of NFL Teams such as the San Fran 49ers who almost always use to be in the running or the Dallas Cowboys (who we ALL picked to be Super Bowl bound). Every team that has been there, MUST rebuild and we still are fine tuning but it is hard to fine tune a team that refuses to stay healthy which is all due to a lack of conditioning on the players part during the Off-Season.

Sure, a lot of ex-Cincy players are around the league and making a mild impact but can you honestly blame Marvin Lewis for their loss? If anyone is to blame you point your finger at the GM / Owner Mike Brown for not shelling out salaries to these fine players. At the beginning of the season we all could tell Marvin Lewis was NOT in control when Mike Brown resigned Chris Henry when all signs pointed to: Good-Bye from Marvin Lewis.

I'm sick of fair-weather fans and I"m sick of fans only rooting for a winning team when they obviously know NOTHING about the sport as a game or as a business. If you want results from the Cincinnati Bengals you should (as I am) boycott Paul Brown Stadium and NOT purchase merchandise or seating to send our GM / Owner a message that we WANT our team from the 80s back and we, the fans, want what all fans want -- a team. We fill the seats, we cheer our team and we want a GM that looks out for the best interest of the team instead of lining their pockets (look at Bill Parcels in Miami).

As a conclusion to this rant of hatred for fair-weather fans, look at the Bengals as an organization instead of just one man. We need a General Manager and we need an Offensive Coordinator that is NOT predictable on playcalling. For all fair-weather fans, I despise you and you disgust me -- go root for another team because I for one, will be rooting for the Cincy Bengals win or lose.

Mike Brown has a history of never firing a coach, always letting them stay through their contract. Thats just being a cheapskate, not wanting to finish paying a contract when the coach is gone.

Everybody so quick to lay the blame on Marvin that they're to blind to see the real problem is not the coach but the owner!!! The only reason Mike Brown put any money into the team was because Hamilton Co. was suing him for breach of contract. As long as he can make money he don't care what kind of team he fields. Marvin has no control over who is hired or fired on that team, just look at Chris Henry, Marvin did not want him but Mike seen a body he could get for league minimum. So don't fire the worker because the BOSS wont do his job!!!

kodaddy]MARVIN MUST GO......Where the heck is Marty Schottenheimer????HOW about COWHER?? Call ONE of them PLEASE OR THE SEASON IS LOST. MIKE BROWN SHOULD BE STOOD UP ON FOUNTAIN SQUARE AND SHOT THROUGH and THROUGH.... With limp noodles.... just like himself...Hundreds of thousands would show up for that one.. There could even be a pay per view. It would be th HIGHEST pay per view in history...

LOL you change coaches mid-season and you guys will go nowhere. And Cowher isnt coming back, trust me I saw a interview that was pretty convincing to me he isnt coming back. Unless Brett Favre learned his antics from Cowher and he pulls a fast one on us....:D wrote:
