wow vs have been better then the lakers for 5 of the last 7 years ,,we had 2 off years and were still 50 plus wins and have been in the playoffs 10 yrs straight ..dont quote ur history i know all too well..but no one made a better improvement then the mavs,,and i dont see how artest has made u better..u needed ariza to run with gasol when kobe is hurt or off..u are helpless without kobe ..were the mavs still have howard too fall back on..which if u know howard then u know ..when dirk doesnt play he steps up and averages over 28 a game..and know u add gooden and marion in the mix.and thomas..and the rookie roddie.who is being compared to rondo..we beat u guys handly.and have the same record..and have done this all year without 2 key players and without 4 key players last 4 games..howard out.damp out who by the way leads the league in fg% and blocks.marion out and tim thomas played his first game..so realy who has more impressive given the situation.. dallas is a no brainer there..and dirk is just on fire..mavs. phoenix wcf ..go suns go mavs... ---------------------------- The mavs are impressive? Your easily impressed. If Ariza was a better choice then Artest dont you think the Lakers would have kept him? We are the most successfull team in NBA history because we make the right calls at the right times. Cuban and the Mavs, not so much.LMAO!! See what I mean?

Monta Ellis went for 37 points,8 assists,4 rebounds against the Mavs. Its time to turn the page on the backcourt. The perimeter players could not stop Wade in the Finals. Cuban traded to make the backcourt even older and less athletic. CP3 torched them in the playoffs the following season and Johnson took the blame. Unless changes are make or star players from other teams are hurt, the Mavs will have a slim chance of winning the West with the likes of Billups, Parker, CP3, and Nash to contend with.

Mavs always play the Lakers close, we just haven't had the grit to close games out in the past. That has changed this season. There is no way to know how it will all turn out until it all turns out, but at least you can count on Lakers fans to be classless losers as always.

The Lakers have a great chance, not only because there are the defending champions, but also because they one are of the few teams that made substantial improvement in the off season. San Antonio and Boston are the others. Dallas could be on to something with Jose Berea, but if recent history reveals anything, Dallas will prefer the sensationalism of alley-oops over the defensive athletism they need to win a championship.

It was not a meanlingness win but it should be put into context, like the win over the Spurs in last seasons playoffs. When a team has to play without of one its top three scorers (Ginolbli then, Gasal now) who also is a leading team rebounder and defender, All-Star the said team is at a disadvantage. Therefore, a victory over such a team should not be taken too seriously.
