I agree. Bibby makes the team better, but here's the funny part. The team was good enough to make the playoffs without Bibby. The problem -- was I have said for three years -- is the coach. Everybody knows the only person who could hold Michael Jordan to 15 points a game was his college coach. In the case of the Hawks, Woodson's inability to install a coherent offense and defense after three years has hurt the growth of these young players.[/quote]
I totally agree with you. We have so many good players on the Hawks, but they unknown to most NBA Fans. Players are unable to show their true potential. I thought the reason for the struggling Hawks was a good Point Guard and a Center. Now we have one of the top 15 Point Gaurds in the League and the Hawks are still struggling to get and stay in the playoff race. We traded alot of dead weight and got a better Point Guard. Logic would say "IMPROVEMENT". But I guess we need to make some improvements in the coaching staff to see an immediate Impact. We know Mike Bibby is not playing at his best and having a off year. Hopefully he can stay healthy and he will make some improvements. To me Joe Johnson is an All Star, Marvin Williams could be a future all star one day, and Josh Smith reminds me of a young Dominque Wilkens when he is blocking shots and dunking on people. Unfortunately all 3 people will never show their true potential because of the coaches style of play. Even if we make the playoffs, our record will be barely better than last years record. I will be very surprised if we keep the same coach for next years season.
