Im a loyal sports fan of Atl and Chi teams but i just dont care alot about the hawks b/c you can look at them at the beginning of the year and say they wont go anywhere plus their coach is a dump.i can make better management than the hawks.

i would sign my favorite hawk of all time who i meet.....DIKEMBE MUTOMBO. Mutombo is the man. he would play Center. sheldon williams PF. Josh smith, joe johnson , lue. That would be a little better but they would still need to get more b/c their bench blows.I went to no games this season but i went to a game ofthe season be4 this last but if they signed mutombo or any player that would make a difference id go to a game. They need to go after a not a big free agent but one of those semi-superstars to complement joe johnson. maybe like a richerd lewis. or get greg oden. or pick that pg out of OSU...i forgot his name. If they got a great pick in the draft i would go more.

I gave my season tickets up several years ago because I could see that no one in the League respected the Hawks' Management. Atlanta is a terrific city and dozens of elite players (including Shaq) live here or have homes here. However, none of them have a desire to play for this franchise. I agree with your assessment of the team. The Hawks needs a management shake up. If I were an owner, I would hire Doc Rivers as my GM. He is a hard nosed guy cut from the same fabric that Joe Dumars is (and he has a history with the Atlanta). Second, I hire Paul Silas as my coach. He is another hard nosed guy who knows the game and who will demand that his players give effort. These changes will not solve all Atlanta's problems, but they will at least establish a solid baseline on which to build.

I love basketball and I have always loved the Hawks. However, somewhere along the road they forgot how to look for guys like Tree Rollins, Danny Roundfield, Steve Smith or even Mookie Blaylock who despite game flaws played like the Bird on their chest stood for something.

My deadline for renewing my season tickets was the 31st of March and for reasons that I suspect are clear to everyone except the Management Team at the Hawks I have decided to give up my wonderful seats in Section 116, Row BB. For those of you who do not know about seating in Philips, these are two seats on the floor, second row just slightly behind and to the right of the Hawks bench; i.e.: they are wonderful seats and I have very much enjoyed them over the past three years, but at just over $9,000 for the pair I can no longer justify paying such an amount to watch such a horrible basketball team. I came to Atlanta and decided early on to be a Hawks fan and to support the team. I have paid nearly $30,0000 over the past three years and we have managed to win how many games during that time? This team won't win as long as we continue to draft 6'9" small forwards, have a coach who thinks he can run a basketball team like a football team by calling every play. Moreover, many of players simply do not care about the fans. Josh Smith is a spoiled child.........Marvin should have stayed in college........Sheldon is too small to make a difference...........the senior players are mostly injured and the two or three who geniunely care about the fans (Joe Johnson, Tyronn Lue and Josh Childress) can't make up for the rest of the crew. I love basketball......high school, college and professional..........I always have, but unless someone takes some very serious action I don't see this team every competing for anything other than last place. Sorry, but they can sell my seats to another fool!
