Just watched the Mets-Giants game where Matt Cain beaned David Wright. To their credit, announcers Brenneman and Grace talked quite a bit about how it was obviously an accident. However, when Cain came out of the game, he tipped his cap to the crowd and the announcers jumped all over him for that, saying how it was a low class thing to do with Wright in the hospital.
Unfortunately, they were so busy being self-righteous that they didn’t even watch their own monitors, which showed a group of Giants fans in the area behind the Giants dugout who were giving Cain a standing ovation as he walked toward the dugout. It was pretty obvious that Cain was tipping his hat to them, a normal gesture.
