Personally, I want the Phillies to win, but these two teams are so well matched I wouldn't dare put any money on it. As an Astros fan, I know all to well of what Lidge is capable of. One day he looks terrific, and then the next day, he looks like he wouldn't be able to get a little leaguer out. Although despite all of our different opinions, you all can admit, this is going to be one hell of a series!!

Tommie...what I meant is ..we know Cliff lee...he was the cy young winner last year...had a tremendous year...but as you mentioned he did beat us..but we also handled him...he will have no surprises for us....like he did in the NL...And that bullpen?? it will be exploited...C.C. last year was handled a lot different than this year...he is well rested...not overworked..the Phils will have thier hands full with him..

They know and handled Cliff Lee? The way I remember it the final score of that game was 10-2 with the Yanks on the losing side. The Phils on the other hand rocked C.C. twice in the post season last year. The Phillies bullpen? Don't believe the media hype. If you've watched and NL post seasom games you would see that the bullpen has been just as good as any team in baseball with Lidge regaining his form. The Phillies took 2 - 3 this year in NY, with the one loss coming on a blown save while Lidge was sruggling. And Cole Hamels, while he has struggled, has pitched well against the Yankees lineup and won one of them games in NY. So, your logic makes no sense. We will probably go back and forth until the games begin and it's fun and all but the reality is that the corporate yankees team has one weakness which will be their downfall......Joe Jerardi. Even you have to admit he is a bonehead. Good luck Yankees fans!!

The Phillies are the world champs...but against the Yankees ...they will have their hands full..and if the Yankees get into the bullpen...it's over...Hamels isn't what he was..you think pitching 260 innings last year had some effect on him ?? we know and have handeled Cliff Lee...he will not surprise us..and he won't be as dominant as he was in the weak N.L....Pedro ...well he himself said we're his Daddy...the Yanks better be careful pitching to Howard...just as the Phillies better be careful pitching to A-Rod...both are locked in...this is going to be a good one...

I'm rooting for the Phillies to win it all. One thing I would particularly like to see is Pedro winning one for them. Tommy, I like what you said about the DH, how the hell can you play in the majors and not have to bat. The AL desperately needs to do away with the DH.

You couldn't put a better matchup together. It's going to be electric. One thing I don't like about the AL is the DH. If you play the field you go up to bat. It is what it is though and that being said I would love to see Manuel put Ben Francisco in left field and Ibanez as DH. It would give them another right handed bat (not that it matters with the Phils) and you can save Stairs and Dobbs for situational plays at the end. Another thing is Cole Hamels, he did have succes against the Yankees but he's been throwing ducks at the plate and he can't do that against a team like the Yankees. How great is it going to be when Pedro Martinez starts a game. This is going to be a great World Series!

This is going to be one of the best World Series of all time. Just think about the pitching matchup of game one; CC vs. Cliff Lee. That will be a sweet match up!!
