You know, I don't even care if he did or not, because I believe that everyone cheats in one way or another. I don't even care if they put an asterisk, take his title away or whatever. The problem that I have is that perjury is a crime and if the federal prosecutors try him for perjury and a jury finds him guilty, he should be put in jail. I know, Clinton lied and he didn't go to jail, but that was wrong and I believe that he should've.
My point of view is this, and I understand where the Bonds fans come in. Rafael Palmeiro was a hero to me. He seemed to me like the guy that beat the odds, to become a great baseball player. He seemed to me like the guy that could never do wrong. Then he tested positive for steroids and all the things that I thought I new about the good guys in baseball changed. I was a die-hard Rangers fan, and believe me, with the exception of about 3 years a decade ago, it has been real hard. Now, to me, they all cheat. My opinion is they just haven't caught them yet. I still follow baseball, because its a hard habit to break, but I haven't been to a game in 2 or 3 years because I just can't believe that every player on the field has cheated to gain an edge, be stronger whatever. Now Gary Mathews, Jr is mixed up in this, and looking back I can see how that is...He was nothing before he came to the Rangers and had an unbelievable year here as a hitter, now he's just another doper to me....
So you see, its not whether he did or didn't juice, its that everyone did, in my eyes and baseball is quickly losing its fans..... the line is forming to the left..
And at least in wrestling, everyone knows they are all doing it

I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! While Baseball was not destroyed by Shoeless Joe Jackson (which I feel was a larger scandal than steroids), intergration, Joe Pepetone, Pete Rose and the most notorious player Ty Cobb did not destroy baseball... The media has placed Barry Bonds' as the face of the steroid era...Even though Jose Canseco blew the whistle on himself and his teammates (including Mark McGwire). I remember the night in 1998 when the chase was all we read about and watched on TV. The Commissioner was present, the Maris' family was present and there were no needles thrown on the field, no chants of cheater from the fans, no talk of asterisk and no Costa interviews with Balco employees that guaranteed hand eye coordination was improved by steroid use (ridiculous)...The media had a chance to blow-up the steroid era in 1997 when they questioned (ever so slightly) Mark McGwire about his "suppliment" use. McGwire's name and the words villian, cheater, evil, asterisk or dope user were never used during "The Chase" nor was Sosa's name dragged through the mud like Barry. Congress called McGwire, Sosa, Palmeiro & Canseco (the steroid posse) and all denied steroid use except McGwire who took the FIFTH. McGwire had excellent counsel and Bonds did not or he did not listen to his counsel. I feel we should let the records stand and place Maris & Aaron's stats/photo next to the current (Bonds) player and let the fans judge for themselves period. What do you think we should do with McGwire, Sosa, Palmeiro, Canseco, Caminetti, Bonds and others stats...and if we believe the Costa/Balco employee, steroids made these guys/gals Supermen & Women. Steroids increase body mass and strenght (duh)...thus we must remove the Gold Gloves and defensive numbers too... Leave the stats, clean up Baseball, Football, Basketball, Hockey, Cycling, Track & Field (oh yeah, fake Wrestling too). For the record, Canseco, McGwire, Bonds & Sosa were fun to watch even before the steroids and Bonds definitely had HOF numbers before. Baseball will be fine!!!! May God Bless All Sports Some of these "fans" need serious counselling from a licensed therapist...There's a lot of anger, racism and stupidity on the internet (hopefully there are some logical fans out there). Later

what kind of proof do you have for that statement? Have they done a study on how far a ball will travel when one is on steroids and when one is not on steroids?

I agree that Bonds can connect with the ball thats half the battle, and no one is questioning Bonds abilities. The problem is that he would never be able to hit as far as he has without the roids.

Barry Bonds still remains home run king, regardless of the steroid accusations. When someone does well others tear them down. HE HAD TO HIT THAT BALL to become home run king.
