What exactly did Towers do that he wasn't told to do. He had no support from his last two owners and still brought in an all star team. Was it he who cut the payroll year in and year out. Was it he who vetoed trades were we would actually have to spend money to bring in a quality player. Every year end it's wait till next year. Moores had a great ride he built up his wealth and destroyed the fan base and farm teams.Until they decide we are not a small market team and spend some money things will never change. In the weakest division in baseball we have managed to survive with a few titles. But in 40 years how many times did we make it to the world series. Not since Ray Kroc has this organization had a passion for winning.

don't think tOWERS is the worst in baseball, but he's had 14 years here and what to show for it in a weak NL West?   very little. . . . time to move on K tOWERS . . . sometimes change is good . . . .  ANn if you are as great as you and the homer announcers think you are, you will do big things elsewhere.  Your time is San Diego is done. . . . Go . . .

The Padres are seriously loosing my faith. If they get rid of Jake they should go ahead and get rid of Adrian Gonzalez so I can watch a team worth my time. Thats all this organization does is develop players and ship them off for players nowhere worth the value of the Padre being traded. It was bad enough the lost Trevor Hoffman to free agency because Towers is a bone head and luckily Bell has been doing great as the closer. If they want to free up salary why dont they try and move players that havent been producing like D. Sanchez or Brian Giles. Why even pick up the option for 9 million dollars a year. Or how about Cliff Floyd that was money well spent. Oh yeah Mark Prior was another gem that Towers signed. Dont forget Edmonds, what a load of crap. I am to the point that regardless if Jake approves the deal I am done with this organization and other San Diegans should be as well. I hope he declines and stays with the Padres just out of spite and force the team to become better vice being crappy all year long. I understand it business but before long the Padres will alienate the fans and the organization will have no one to blame but themselves.

I know moores doesn't give him any money but who assembled this bunch of AA sad sackers!! . . . there is little hope on the way (another infielder converted to outfield? 2 quality 1st baseman, no SSs? Stringing together waiver wanderers and lost journeymen in hopes they'll gel around AG, Jake and CY isn't gonna cut it if you want any kind of pennant. picking up a few good trades every so often amidst the rest of the rubble ain't cutting it! who signed GiLE$Sucks for 9 million guaranteed?!?! Under tOWERS (little "t") we have lost M. Bradley, M, Cameron, K. Greene, Ramon Hernandez, Loretta, among others (Jake, & AG too?) wont even mention the woeful drafts. He said this is his team & it's an embarrassment! Has he max'd out here? Is this another example of the peter principle? maybe its time to move on Kev . . . .
