Everyone agrees Giles has a good eye at the plate, can draw a walk or stroke a single. But he has shown his true colors about not wanting to win. His years in Pittsburgh and San Diego have apparently conditioned him to accept losing as a way of life. He had the opportunity to play for a ring by going to the Red Sox, yet he chose to stay at home with momma and the girls. While that's admirable as a family man, that classifies him as a LOSER in mny book. If he would've gone to Boston he'd still be playing with a CHANCE FOR A RING!!!! and still be home with the family in plenty of time for Halloween and Thanskgiving. How many pros or average Joes would give up their left nut to play for a title, at any level? If the Padres want to build their future around a guy with a losing mentality, that's what we'll get MORE LOSING. Thanks Brian!!
