There has been some weird stuff going on in the Padres organization. Sandy Alderson who was this Great franchise builder in Oakland has been a huge miss in San Diego. There are no Prospects in the minors that are Stars, and ranked one of the worst minors in MLB. They started the downward spiral by trading away the 2nd Baseman of the Future Josh Barfield (Remember Roberto Alomar), OF Ben Johnson (A Star in the Making) , OF Xavier Nady (Another Star in the making back in 05)and on spending money to get a Power hitter to play at PETCO even though they have the money and thats only a few names to mention. Then in 07 they try to trade Linebrink who is the closer in the next three years to the Phillies for Rowand, I know he is a great player but there has to be someone else to trade away. Hoffman can't pitch forever and we don't need to lose a future closer. I have been a fan since the early 80's and every year they drop the ball when it comes to spending money and getting key players that can get the team to the next level. Ya we had a few years of potential but FIRE SELLS took care of that. And because of those events the Padres have 0 World Championships.
