I may be out of line, but it seems like the only players that Jerry Manuel gets on are some of the white players. Murphy, Church, Pelfrey, and now it seems John Maine. He says nothing about the lack of production that Sheffield and Tatis have been giving the Mets. If Church and Murphy were given the playing time of them two we'd see a lot more production out of them. Tatis is a good bench player, he is not an everyday player. Sheffield has given the Mets nothing the last few weeks. Murphy should be the everyday 1st basemen and Fernando Martinez should either be sent down or be playing everyday in left field. If you send Martinez down, Sheffield and Tatis could platoon left field .This would always leave a dangerous right handed bat on the bench. You could always spell Murphy or Church one day a week maybe giving Reed or Tatis some playing time.
