Remember Peavy has a no trade clause, that is why other teams are not going after him, I would say the Dodgers and the Braves are the Favorites to get him because he has said he would go to LA or Atlanta. Padres will get more desperate closer to the trade deadline.
Since the Padres want to dump payroll, how about we trade Loney and Pierre plus 2 prospect for Peavy and Gonzalez. That would put the Dodgers in the World Series.

The Dodgers aren't gonna let go of their young top talent, especially to increase payroll. The Dodgers wanna dump the salaries of Jason Schimdt and Juan Pierre. Once Manny comes back the dodgers will look to trade Pierre for a pitcher.
Who said the Pads are asking for nothing? If that was the case 25 teams would have made a realistic bid for him by now. they are asking for the farm! Dodgers won't give theirs away, especially since there isn't much there to give.
