Thank goodness the Marlins won tonight,no thanks to Armando Benitez. This relief pitcher has to be one of the worse in baseball. He blew another 3-1 Marlins lead over Atlanta in the 8th inning on a homerun by Chipper Jones . Manager Fredi Gonzalez insists on putting Benitez in when the Marlins have a lead late in the game. He has lost at least 6 games that the Marlins had leads in. The wins have been few and far between this year ,but Gonzales insists on still going to Benitez in the late innings.
Incidentally,the Marlins won 4-3 in 11 innings .
It also might be time for Gonzalez to go,however I don't think that will happen this late in the season. I like him,but he is to easy on the players.
