When hearing that Edgar Renteria departed the Braves during the offseason, I was in awe. He produced great numbers and was a fine replacement at shortstop for Rafeal Furcal. Speed, Batting, and all around athleticism was a definate promise at shortstop for the Braves. However, he took flight to Detroit and the Braves have a new and young talent at shortstop. Yunel Escobar, the speedy shortstop is a solid fielder with capability of playing all skill positions in the infield, and hitting in the .300's. Makes me wonder if the Braves will get rid of him when he starts producing nice numbers.
