If you were to lock up your vets, they wouldnt make it to free agency. Chip, Jeter, never made it to free agency because they are the faces of the franchises.[/quote] Thats right...but when you have great expectations and one of your players goes down, you can't wait till next year to try again...that is why you go after Free agents.

OK. Once again, the Braves did not sign Hampton. They traded crap for him, with the Rockies, who origionally signed him, and insurance paying for most of huge contract. I personally think Santana is the best pitcher in the game today. That is why I dont want the Braves to get him. We would most likely have to give up Frenchy, who the Twins would use in center, and the rest of the farm. Then we would have to sign him. The Braves dont have the money to do that. I think you feel the same wway, the part about the trade anyway. You dont want the yanks to give up any of the three pitchers coming up and let alone the asking price is two of em. I wouldnt trade them either.

So rocks...what if you guys do go out and buy a replacement.? I'm alright with that, remember I am a Yankee fan...Evil Empire...you know! Lets say its Santana and you sign him for lets say $160 mil over 7 years. Now lets say he gets injured and can't picth for whatever reason...lets say he becomes another Pavano or Hampton. Does that make your team stupid or require ridicule from anyone? I mean if you had a chioce today to sign Santana you would do it. Right? Like I said...you never know. Home grown talent works when you have enough seasoned veterans. Thats why you buy your veterans...its called free agency.

Well rocks....Just goes to show you, just when it all starts going well.....booom! an injury! Does that mean you guys s.su.c.k. now? Does it really matter? What do you care? Now they will probably be in the Santana hunt, which doesn't do the Yankees any good. But how dare the Yankees do it? Its 121mil wasted on what looked like a good bet when you signed him...looked even better when the Mets signed him. But you never know eg: Carl Pavano, so the Yankees find some diamonds in their farm hands and add Santana and all of a sudden the Yankees are looking good again. We know that because guys like you cry ''no fair, they are buying championships''! Thats when we know we are a threat...you guys tell us with your whining. Just like the Sox fans did because their owners were too cheap to compete and put the best team possible on the field . They do it now, but thats OK? The Yankees owners spend revenue, their income, to keep the best team on the field. But wait...''they can't do that because they are the Yankees''. So now you are without Hampton. You say ''Only a hammie'' It was a bleeding hammie, between the muscle and skin which means there is a tear, it will take at least twice as long to heal and will result in more interior scar tissue which will have the feeling of a bruise for at least a year after it is healed. They could opt for minor surgery to stitch the torn area and lessen the size of the scar, but that is usually not what is done. Trust me! He is 35 and won't pich a game, if at all, until Sept. But what if you guys get Santana at 25mil a year... I bet that would be alright though..............CAUSE ITS NOT THE YANKEES. Its ok when other teams do it. But not the Yanks. $121,000,000 WASTED....But you are lucky, your owner may just buy you another ace.Evil Empire...my A.S.S.
