Smoak is smoakin' the ball at AA Frisco. Hitting .331 with 9 doubles,6 homers,35BB's and 29 rbi in 48 games. His slug and OBP are both well into the .400's. Should be promoted to AAA OKC any day now.

Could make a nice 3-hole hitter in the future, bumping Hamilton up to cleanup

Kind of a moot point anyway. He's just keeping the position till after the All-Star break. Justin Smoak is the 1st baseman of the future. He'll be up from AA and in the bigs this season.

Davis is solely responsible for 1 win. 2-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the 9th Arlington to sweep Seattle baby

Davis has not been a lone-wolf for any loss. Thats ridiculous. Sure, were he stroking the ball like he did in 80 games last year we'd have stacked more runs on the board and who knows a handful of games could have turned out differently. The key here is if Davis learns to hit pitchers that are taking advantage of him right now. If he doesn't turn things around and get his average up over .245-ish fairly soon people will start to wonder if he can hit consistently at this level. I think he's just a breath away from coming out of this

He struck out 150 times between AA Frisco and the majors in 2008 and still managed to hit .300 after all

He can do it

I agree, we send Pitchers down to rehab their stats, why not batters to get thieir stroke back. He cost us more games by striking out with men on 2nd and third then he does with his glove. At least 10 games this season alone already.

That's just assinine. While I agree he's in a hitting slump, Name the games lost, (any) that go 100% squarely on the shoulders of Chris Davis only. 10 games??? Name one loss that he's soley responsible for.

I know the guys in the booth keep complimenting the fielding at first base, but at some point the Rangers need to realize that this guy cannot HIT THE BALL. He needs to be at Frisco and Blaylock needs to be at first. He is hurting the team.....
