I read that the writers meeting in Chicago are struggling with admitting players from the steroid era into the Hall of Fame. Maybe they should just have a steroid wing...if it was legal for a period of time, I guess the question is did they break any rules? Integrity and character are part of the requirements for going into the Hall, so was it poor integrity and character to "juice"? I have heard comments that at the very least, players were pressured by team mates to take amphetamines to deal with lethargy that comes from the grind of almost daily games during the season. In my mind, I'm not sure how I feel about giving that kind of recognition to 'juiced' players. It would help me if players from that era would discuss whether they feel that taking these drugs constituted an 'unfair' advantage, that showed a lack of character and integrity, or whether everyone was doing it and we, as fans need to accept that. I still don't have a clear understanding whether this was done with a wink and a nod, by everyone, or if it was rare during those years.
