Give the new kids on the block some credit. You don't back into winning the division by being in first place every single day since July 18, that's 74 straight days. They went into the final weekend vs. the Tigers with a magic number of 1. They won their 1 game so they would have won the AL East regardless of who played in the rain for the Red Sox.
BTW, the game Matsuzaka pitched on September 28 the Bosox had a lineup of the following:
Ellsbury
Pedroia
Ortiz
Youkilis
Drew
Bay
Kotsay
Lowrie
Varitek

Doesn't look like the starters rested in that game. Final score Yankees 6, Red Sox 2.

You're a typical Red Sox bandwagon fan. You show up on these messageboards out of nowhere to brag how great you are when you win and then make all sorts of excuses when you don't. Show a little class for a change.

Decal,
Get used to those types of posts from Boston fans. Whenever they lose, it is due to bad calls, or they were "resting good players", injuries, weather, or the other team was "stupid enough to play their good players". The Rays have played outstanding baseball this year. My Yankees had an off year with reorganization, injuries and not even playing to their full potential, but they still managed to give the Red Sox a spanking in the last couple of games in the season. The Rays have an excellent chance of going all the way this year and I hope that happens. Good Luck! Bu wrote:

THE RAYS ARE FOR REAL. IN SPITE OF LOSING CRAFORD and LONGORIA THEY KEEP ON KEEPING ON.
STICK A FORK IN THE YANKEES, THEY'RE TOAST. TOO BAD GEORGIE, YOU COULDN'T EVEY BUY A TEAM, WITH ALL YOUR MONEY.
THE RED SOX WILL BE THE WILD CARD, AND WILL BE QUICKLY ELIMINATED. THE ANGELS ARE A GREAT TEAM, AND SOCIA WILL GET THEM BACK ON TRACK.
MY DREAM WORLD SERIES IS RAYS/CUBS. I'D PULL FOR THE RAYS, BUT EITHER WAY IT WOULD BE ONE HELL OF A WORLD SERIES

As a baseball fan I couldnt ask for a better season from a low market team. Everyone keeps talking schedule but the Angels have handed it to every al team except for the rays who have beat them in every series. Rays havent yet other than the seven game skid been on anything but a good run. HOORAH Rays and keep it up, if the Twins and ChiSox can keep it up the two "big boy" teams wont even see the post season.
