Could someone tell the sporting world that the Tampa Bay Rays are not from Tampa - the team name, Tampa Bay, is based on a desire to build a identity for a regional team.

The Tampa Bay Rays play in St. Petersburg - not Tampa. And they don't play in Tampa Bay, this is a body of water. They play their games in St. Petersburg.

When refering to the Tampa Bay Rays, please don't refer to the team as being from Tampa or playing in Tampa. They are going to be around for awhile, so try to get the name right.
