Trade Ichiro? Is someone out of their mind?

He signed a five year, $90 million extension with Seattle.

The Mariners wouldn't trade him for all the saki in Japan.

Why would the Giants trade a future pitching star and their hottest hitter for a guy who's contract is going to expire? What would the Giants gain out of that? Maybe they can be talked into taking back Jesse Foppert?

Hey I am not a UW fan, WSU actually. Your right there is no gaurantee that he will perform as a ace and if we could get one in return for Ichiro that would be great. But there is no gaurantee for Aces. I believe Schmidt is on the DL, Zito is sucking and Weaver who is no Ace is a example of pitching options that are out there that are not living up to any deals they sign. Who ever trades for Ichiro will be on one of the coast, so there is our options. I think you have to look towards Detroit on building a pitching staff. Go young and pray. At least it won't cost you 80 million like the Yankees.

Just because a guy pitched for the UW doesn't mean that he's a good deal for Ichiro. I absolutely can't stand people saying that. I'm still on the fence as far as trading the guy, but if they do decide to trade him there are plenty of teams that would be willing to offer at least one proven major league starter. The last thing the Mariners need to do is dump another superstar for prospects. We lucked out with the Johnson trade where we got Freddy, Halama, and Carlos Guillen. You just can't bank on that happening every time.

its not the trade for randy Winn, it is for Timothy Lincecum that makes sense. a first round pick from the UW that is ready to start for San francisco. The Mariners issues are with pitching more then anything. Randy Winn would be a servicible player until Adam Jones can take center field. Besides this conversation would be irrevelant if we could sign Ichiro.....Good Luck.

It is time to trade Ichiro. How about to San Francisco who could use a draw like him. Trade Ichiro and Reed for Timothy Lincecum and Randy Winn. We could have a futue with Hernandez, Morrow, Lincecum for years to come and Randy Winn could be back in our outfield.
