I just wanted to wait for a while to see how these guys would responed after their bats got going, now as far as Sexson go's yes trade him now! for the Kid! KGJ, i am sure you reconize who I mean, He's ready for it, the city is ready for it! The M's are ready for it. I think that with Hargrove out of the picture now Ichiro would resign if the Kid was in left or right field playing next to him! The M's are in need of a Lefthanded power hitter! I think their pitching is fine! but they could still use a little punch such as a Griffey! Besides this is where he belongs and if we get him back this season that makes the M's a contender!

First we will NEVER get Helton nor Fielder. Those trades are ridiculous! Fielder is a big guy who is the next Albert Pujols. Helton is Colorado's best guy, he can hit for power and average, unlike Richie who always hit for grounders or killed balls. Adrian has been punished by us fans (or LA fans) and I'll admit I was one. But he had adjust to the AL (although it may be easier) and obvisoly he could never hit 40 in his first full AL season. He was and is average, although next season don't be surprised if he hits .280 30-35 hrs and 100 rbi. Hanley Ramirez is one of the many treasures for the Marlins. Even if we package Beltre, Sexson and Bentacourt, i don't think we could get him. Miguel Cabrera is a possible 6-7 time allstar when he is 33. Adrian and Richie= 3 time allstar. That is obvisosly not a go. Bill Bavasi shouldn't make a deal unless a major slump in Washburn or Miguel, but look for a big off-season deal.

First of all, lets not get ahead of ourselves here... A. Richie Sexson is one of the best pure power hitters in the game playing in a murderous ball park when it comes to power hitters...Safeco Field eats power hitters for breakfast because of its huge dimensions and the fact that it was built as a pitcher's park...Richie has averaged...AVERAGED...30+ HR and 100+ RBI since coming to Seattle, and even before then, as a member of the Brewers and the Diamondbacks. He never has hit for average, so stop expecting him to...he's there because he can muscle up on the ball and get it over the fence...and if i remember correctly he leads the major leagues in grand slams among active players so he doesn't "always" choke in the clutch...he starts off slowly every year, and he turns it around about halfway through the season...which the past 3 years has been far too late for the mariners because they have been way behind everyone else in the AL West... The Brewers will NEVER, and I repeat, NEVER trade Prince Fielder for Richie Sexson and prospects because the only prospects that they would be interested in the Mariners aren't (hopefully) dumb enough to trade away, those being Jeff Clement, one of the top Catcher prospects of the last 10-15 years, and Adam Jones, who is one of the top prospects at any position in baseball...Like you said, Prince Fielder has a lot of baseball left to play...and the brewers know that... B. Adrian Beltre has consistently picked up speed over the last couple of years, but nobody cares because the only thing that anyone sees is that he hasn't come close to matching his numbers of 2004...which is what he was expected to do when he signed a $64 million contract...However, he hit 28 HR last year and had 89 RBI, not that great for someone making almost 16 million dollars a year...and what nobody seems to notice either is that he is the 2nd best defensive 3rd baseman in the Major Leagues, last year he was actually tied for the best, but Eric Chavez got the gold glove yet again...and paying 15 million a year for Eric Chavez type numbers isn't that hard a thing to swallow...and nobody will give the Mariners the value that they need to get by trading him because nobody wants to take a chance that he won't regain his 2004 form...especially for 15 million dollars a year... So what i'm going to say is that everyone needs to be patient this year, and hold on for a wild ride, because usually the teams that start off hot, such as the Angels are doing this year, begin to dwindle in the second half, (look at the tigers last year...they were tearing through the AL Central, but then they started to lose ground) the mariners on the other hand always seem to pull through in the second half and start gaining ground...but in previous years they have been way too far back to even be in contention...so just calm down, watch Richie Sexson hit the hell outta the ball, watch Adrian Beltre knock the cover off of the ball like he has been doing, and watch what happens...

I think the Mariners are better off trading these 2 for some good minor league prospects. The NL West teams seem to have an abundance of good young players and a couple of the teams are in need of power hitters. Jeff Weaver just needs to go somewhere else. It just isn't working in Seattle.

We need to save the Mariners now...someone tell Bill Bavasi that our bullpen is fine so he does not need to toil around with it, though Jason Davis was pretty adequate. Nor our starting pitching, if we can see the one hitter Felix Hernandez in Boston, the two-run for Detroit Cha Seung Baek, the shutout Jarrod Washburn, the home pitching Horacio Ramirez on the road and at home, and the one to two-run against the Yankees Miguel Batista, then our pitching is probably set to go for the rest of the season if Mike Hargrove and Rafael Chaves does some tweaking here and there (a.k.a. bye bye to Jeff Weaver).
What we should now do is accquire two or three hitters to replace the failing bats of Richie Sexson and Adrian Beltre.
We fans cannot rely on these two guys to come out with a clutch hit for us, look at game vs. the Angels, May 16, Sexson blew a bases loaded one-out chance to drive in runs and he grounds to Chone Figgins at third for an out. Beltre can give occasional home runs and hits here and there, but we need a consistent guy who will give us clutch base hits to drive in runs in tight situations.
This may not please all of you but I think we should trade Sexson and probably two or three prospects for Todd Helton of Colorado. If we cannot lock up Helton, then we will trade Sexson plus one or two prospects for Prince Fielder of Milwaukee, remember that he is only 23...plenty of baseball left in him. Also, we have to find a way to deal Beltre away with some prospects so we can end up getting either Hanley Ramirez and/or Miguel Cabrera of Florida, favorably Cabrera since he plays at third.
If you look at our lineup and look at our averages, Beltre and Sexson seems to be the disease in our lineup that efficiently blows big innings for us. Others such as Betancourt and Lopez make up for their averages by home runs and speed.
And with Sexson batting a dismal .176 and Beltre a low end of mediocre .239, I think Seattle fans have had enough of "waiting on" these two guys.
From reports on the newspapers, we Mariners can spend up to $350 million still after spending $100 million and subtracting another $50 million for the estimated re-signing of Ichiro. And I guess everyone knows why...
From 2003 'til now, the Mariners have stockpiled a lot of cash. However greedy ones such as Bavasi pockets the money for themselves instead of improving the team.
And everyone in Seattle knows that we are tired of prospects and want a true MLB player. I mean, look at all our prospect trades! All our trades from 2003 on are a mess! The fans earlier even commented that they are sick of prospects!
I want a Mariners team that does not hover between over-, sub-, and par-.500 for the rest of the year. If our GM cannot fufill the team's needs, then fire him and hire a new one, simple as that. Remember, Bavasi is ranked as the worst GM this season, 30th place.
Also, do you all not forget that the AL West is the alleged weakest division in the MLB? So shouldn't we Mariners should be able to lead this division with the utmost efficiency?
I know this is a lot to talk about but I cannot save this for separate posts. This is an issue to save our team. And I want feedback from fellow fans like you.
Thanks.[hl=white][/hl]
