Trading Ichiro is retarted...and yes, getting rid of Meche was BRILLIANT, that's exactly why he singlehandedly disembowled Boston in the KC season opener...

It is time to trade Ichiro. How about to San Francisco who could use a draw like him. Trade Ichiro and Reed for Timothy Lincecum and Randy Winn. We could have a futue with Hernandez, Morrow, Lincecum for years to come and Randy Winn could be back in our outfield.

The_Hitman]Come on. The Mariners have done OK in the offseason. Yeah, they spent a lot of money on some FA that will not give us immediate huge offensive gains but guys like Zito, and Schmidt did not want to play in Seattle cause of the uncertaintanty of manganement and what direction the team was headed in. I may get slammed for this but trade Ichiro now or before spring training. You can get a solid bat and or starter for him along with prospects. But if you keep him on the roster for spring training get a contract done. Spend the money for the franchise player. I dont see why ownership has a problem doing this. They have a better more expierenced rotation than they have had in years. You may not like the names but they will be fine. We finally have that lefty righty combo we need. And Weaver may be the stud this year playing for that huge contract next year. Seattle will do it with small ball this year, Sexson and Beltre may hit a few HR's along with Ibanez but look for a lot of running and strategic hitting. I dont think they will take the west from the Angels but I think they will be right up thier butts this year. Give it a chance and no this is not Bavasi, but with what he had to overcome I think he did the best he could.

lol it was only a matter of time before someone said trade ichiro. that is why seattle sucks granted i love em to death but it would be nice to see more 95's or 01's out of em. if u trade ichiro you will do the same thing that happened when Johnson and Griffey left u will be getting rid of the teams brightest star. the only time that has been good was in 01 after A-Rod left because seattle wouldn't pay him what texas would. if they trade ichiro i will honestly never watch baseball again as i love the mariners *even when they suck* and i love ichiro with the mariners and im sorry but people can say whatever they want he is the best player out there in the bigs. because he plays the team game and not the me game like the other big superstars.

You're an idiot. We dumped Mr. Futile, Gil Meche. We added two starters without breaking the bank and committing to some ridiculous deal that meatheads like you will complain about in four years. Pineiro? Nice guy, but a heart attack on the mound when the stars aren't aligning.

We also re-upped Putz, who if nothing less could be great trade bait.

Hargrove has nothing to do with making deals. He's the field manager -- not the general manager. Complain about Bavasi if you want, but remember he's not dealing from a position of surplus. Gillick wiped out our farm system, meaning we have few prospects to trade.

Zito would have been nice, but it wasn't meant to be. Bonds? Please. The amount of money you'd have to pay him doesn't justify it. Just so everyone is all square, how many World Series rings does he have? None. So don't go yacking about how he would bring X, Y, and Z to the table to get us to the Series.

I'm gonna kick you in the face when I see you trying to jump back on the bandwagon -- we don't have room for idiots like you.

rich_rottweiler]Seattle is just sucking and nothing has been done in the offseason to change that.
We need to fire the head coach and trade a couple of other players to get some all around talent. POSSIBLY barry bonds if that deal in't happinin in San Fran. WE SHOULD HAVE PICKED ZITO UP then we might be better. Whats your thought???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????[/quote wrote:
