Sometime I feel that the City of Seattle is curse when we mention sports. Some players while they play in other teams they are amazing in all aspect but once they come to this city they just colapse, Mariners are the worst when I mention the word "curse". We need a management that love the sport not the way we look or how beatiful the Ballpark is. If you notice the best baseball management and fans come from the other side of the country i.e. New York, Chicago, Boston etc. That the only way we are going to see the Mariners in the World Series, WE NEED TO LOVE BASEBALL more than IMAGE.

I have been a die hard Mariner fan for several years and each year it is slowly diminishing due to the non-aggressiveness of the front office. I slowly become a Boston Red sox fan and slowly forgetting about the Mariners. You first need to get rid of the disease in the front office of general manager and manager. Next, break open the purse strings and get good young pitching. Mariners already have started a core of young hitting offense. Establish a number 1 starter and work with it. Get rid of Sexson,Reed,Snelling and get pitching. Pitching wins ball games. As far as a manager, go after the last Florida Marlins manager that went to commenting on Baseball Tonight on ESPN.

Yeah, we trade a top of the line reliever for a 4th or 5th day starter???? We could have had Tim Hudson and we balked... what the heck is wrong with Bavasi???!!??? Plus this guy was 4-4 with a 4.9 ERA? We could have had a better deal with Baltimore and getting Kris Benson instead of Horacio Ramirez. I have been a fan when I knew who they were, 1989 to be exact.. the year of Ken Griffey Jr. and when he left I stayed and have stayed loyal. I will always be loyal and we should start a website and call it www.firebavasi.com!! Then we go and choose a rule 5 player who supposedly showed promise while going 0-3 with a 7 ERA in the dang AFL?? Thats like college ball and he is now on the roster?? Wow another bottom finish.. thanks brass, you suck!

I definitely agree with the comment about Bavasi and the top brass. It is time for him to go. I have been a fan since I was old enough to watch baseball and this is the first time I question my devotion to the Mariners. I am tired of watching him bring in veterans that are past their prime and players that never had a prime. We need someone that knows something about baseball. He blows the budget on second rate players. GO OUT AND GET SOME PROVEN TALENT!!!!
Rafael Soriano for Horacio Ramirez, what the heck is that????
Picking up Sean White in the Rule 5 draft, takes up a roster spot for a mediocre AA pitcher!!!!

Oh I agree that Seattle is a beautiful city and a great baseball town. Snelling does have a great hand eye coordination but two different knee surgeries and arm problems are just too much for the organization to handle. Does anyone remember that big tall lefty that was supposed to be the next Randy Johnson in the minors? We kept him for 4 years and he constantly had arm problems but we just held on for far too long. 28 mill to Sexson and Beltre combined is a bit much for them not producing as we all hoped. I do hope Sexson goes because its frustrating to watch a guy strike out when a base hit is needed. Lets sign Zito, let Baek and Woods start and that would fill up our rotation. We just signed Jose Guillen and when healthy, he is a terror on pitchers. If no Zito, then trade Sexson and Soriano to Atlanta for Hudson and LaRoche.

it seems that the mariners are toped out as far as spending goes. they make poor decisions in the free agent market (ie sexton and beltre) which has tied up most of the payroll. until we can trade them or their contracts expire, we are stuck at sub .500. i believe though that our minor league system is a good one and our young players are promising. until we can bring in a one or two big name key players, the results will remain the same.

All i can say, is stick with Snelling. despite his long minor league experience is still young. He has the best hand eye coordination i have ever seen and will win a batting title if given time to adjust to the big league pitching. He needs healthy time not just time. By the way Seattle is an awsome city and hope to move there some day.

I do agree that change needs to happen starting with the front office. Bavasi has continued his ways as he did with the Angels.. make noise and then all quiet when it comes down to the time to make something happen. I dont mind Richie leaving in the fact that it was either a home run or strike out, plus Broussard seems to have a little more control in the batters box. Adrian is starting to come through and Yuniesky and Lopez are certainly solid. Snelling and Reed were both promosing but they just cant handle a full season in the majors. Felix needs to learn that no matter what, throw strikes! I cant stand hearing him lose 4 in a row and then we get a quick glimpse of what he can do! We need to deal Richie for a top of the line starter like Hudson or Lowry. I would love to see Zito in a Mariner uniform but we do need a hitter that can handle the tough situations, and a trade involving Manny would do just that. We would have the money to handle Manny if we did trade Richie and we might even have money left to sign Jeff Suppan or even Weaver. The signing of Guillen was great, but now its time to get something done instead of letting the rest of the league take the best and stick us with a mediocre third tier player.. aka Scott Spezio and Rich Aurilia.

The Mariners are entering another period of futility. After 3 straight years of losing, the Mariners have come so close with recent free agent pickups and trades, but yet are still so far from becoming a legitimate contender. Mariner fans are getting fed up. It is time for a change, at the very top. Bavasi, Armstrong, it's time to leave. Hargrove, is a good coach, but the supporting cast of coaches cannot light a fire under the butts of so much talent. Time to clean out the players who can't seem to stay healthy - Jeremy Reed, goodbye, Snelling, so-long, etc. Pitching needs a major overhaul - Felix needs another year in Tacoma AAA. Piniero needs to know how to win again. Jamie got traded, but was the most consistent guy out there when he could find some teammates who can hit and drive in runs. Where do I start, many changes, so little time.
