I agree the sox need to do a better job with trades, and above all else learn a lesson to not make trades with the cubs. I have been a sox fan since the 50's, and cannot recall one good player we got from the cubs, the closest thing to a player was Santo and he was washed up by the time he came to the sox. Aardsma has a great fast ball, but if thats all you have and you throw it down the middle of the plate your gonna get rocked in the american league. Kenny Williams if your reading this, learn a lesson forget deals with the cubs>

i think getting rid of garcia is not a bad transaction. i watched him struggle all year until the last two mos. he was not breaking 90 on the radar gun,and the only thing that saved him was his split finger pitch returned . the player that ozzie doesnt play and could be the answer to left field is ross gload .327 avg. w/power and speed . you dont need a cannon for left field. i am sure all the 2nd guessers will say could we have got more for garcia. i dont know, but i am satisfied. i also like aardsma. has great stuff and velocity. the main concerns are can anderson hit and does uribe feel like playing?

Wow - what garbage that post was...
What does being a better than average base stealer have to do with being a good coach at any level? Completely unrelated.

Did they undervalue Garcia? Possibly - hard to say until these new guys' careers are over. Garcia was at the end of his contract this year, and they won't keep someone in the rotation with the pitching they have - And as for bad trades since the series - that leaves which one you are unhappy with? I loved Rowand, but to say that that was a bad trade is ludicrous. The trade was good, the fall of of Podsednik and failure to grow out of Anderson are what made the lineup bad there.

As for Garland, there was no trade, but no one is, or should be, untouchable. If they would have gotten other pieces they clearly need, have at it - the one thing they are deep in is pitching, and simply going out to sign WAY overpriced free agents isn't the way to do it - you do that for MAYBE a single, very specific player...

Well if they trade Garland then I would just have to watch the Cubs. The White Sox have made some rediculous moves since they won the Series and the way it looks, this is another one. Remember they took Tim Raines, one of the best base stealers in baseball, from the first base coach and replaced him with Harold (can't talk) Baines.:

It does not need discussing but to trade freddy for that is hilarious. what is it with GM's who win world Series thinking they are the reason a team is successful.
