Jay Cutler just won his 3rd straight road game, a very impressive stat for most QB's, but even more impressive for a Bronco QB.
In years past Denver was always a tough opponent at Mile High regardless of the talent level on their team, but not so fierce all the time on the road. Some blamed a reverse affect on the altitude because the Nuggets used to have the same plight in the NBA. The Jay Cutler Broncos have been terrible at Invesco, but look focused and better on the road.
Invesco's part of the problem. The stadium has no heart. The sound doesn't bounce across and reverbate back to the field and give the defense an edge like Mile High Stadium did. At Invesco, the sound just rises and the players aren't affected, therefore making the opponent as comfortable as can be.
It all comes back to Cutler through. He's still got to make plays at home and he hasn't been. On the road however, he has just taken down two very good playoff bound teams on their turf. The Jet and Falcons got a first hand look at what Cutler is capable of. He's got that unique intangible of a winner and a cannon that makes him fearless, which is where he gets in trouble sometimes.
I am having fun watching him mature and if they do make the playoffs, which looks pretty good now, his path is going to run through some tough places. The delimna will be that he has a wild card game at home because of being a divison winner. If they can get by that team, the way Cutler has been on the road thus far, I like his chances to gun down one of the conferences' elite on their turf.
The road is where legends are made. #7 began his journey to legendary status in a road playoff game in Cleveland.
