Prospects are just that. You don't know how they will be or what will happen. They're a gamble. More often then not, prospects disappoint.

Cliff Lee was a sure thing, and is the real deal. And we needed a better right handed batter, Bruntlett is terrible and Francisco has been great for us.

So four prospects that may or may not be all that great for a solid right handed batter and replacement option for the outfield to get some rest, and a reigning Cy Young winner. Which by the way were our areas of weakness. Now we have the 6th lowest ERA.

Well said, PR... I don't think Indian fans know just what they lost... Cliff Lee is not an Ace, he's a trump card beating everything!

I know this was written a few weeks ago, but how can you say the Phils gave up too much for Cliff Lee? Would you have rather seen them trade Happ who could possibly win Rookie of the Year and Kyle Drabek who is looking to be a future ace and will more than likely promoted into the rotation next year for Roy Halladay who makes WAY more than Lee plus is currently not looking like the ace he is? Plus I know hind sight is 20-20, but Lee is 4-0 with a 0.82 ERA...you couldn't ask for more!

I'm a seething cauldron of pure disgust right now, the Phillies got where they are today because they didn't trade Rollins, Utley, Howard, Victorino, Hamels, Madson,& Burrell. Now it's back to stupid as usual...Lee might be the reigning AL Cy Young award winner at the Jake with a 3.14 but what happens when half his starts are in the CBP launching pad? Not only that, three years of big league pitching and he had a 7 and whatever and a 22 win season, hardly the model of consistency, is that his fault or the Tribe's? Finally they trade away a decades worth of scouting, drafting, and coaching MLB-worthy young talent for a 31-year old guy? Bad math. Especially with Knapp & Carrasco, I'm will to concede they had to give up somebody but not that much...
