Remembering Last January, 2008
Do you remember a year ago?
I was glad that the Patriots lost. New York was all right to do it, as long as it was anyone who stopped Brady.
Finally. Too many rings for one dude.
The other Manning made history.
In college basketball my two schools were doing fine. The Indiana Hoosiers were loaded and the shoe had not dropped yet on Kelvin Sampson.
What a difference a year makes.
BYU had done well, and had beat three teams in the same venues that they have lost to them so far this month of 2009: New Mexico at the Pit, UNLV in Provo and Utah at Salt Lake.
They are 15-5 and still a decent team, having only lost to ranked Arizona State and Wake Forest, but I am worried that they might be sinking...3-3 in the Mountain West is not the best of starts to earn an at-large bid in March, and you never wish to depend on winning the conference tourney, especially since the Rebels host it in Vegas.
The Celtics were the best last year; now we have the Cavs and Magic to worry about in the East and LA looks like the team to beat over all.
Kobe, Bleed, Ubershorty. As a Pacer/Jazz fan I am tired of that.
Lose! And the Suns have life? And a few others in the West.
New Orleans in the East, and maybe Atlanta got game. Not so fast Detroit. Philly and Minnesota? I love the NBA.
The Australian Open will not be won by a former Yugoslav. Could Roddick take out both Federer and Nadal?
Yeesh.
What else?
A few weeks till pitcher and catchers report to their respective big league teams.
Some things never change.
